Frabill ez checker will get you a ticket in Mississippi if you're not careful.

theysaidGet the Golden Rule. That's what Mr Green Jeans uses if he checks you at the ramp.
Where do you find on that measures 9" and up.

Some of the plastic checkers are off. While in the machine shop I bend and then scribed a piece of aluminum rod in a mill with a dro. Much easier to buy one.
I got spanked once using the checker. If you’re going to use one, it would be a good idea to go a little heavier like say 10 1/4 to be sure that you don’t gather any fan mail. Ive used the golden rule ever since if size mattered, but mostly I don’t keep fish under 11” or so. If it even looks marginal or doesn’t have shoulders it goes back.
I don't believe they make any that start at 9" :dono .... Gator Grip & BPS boards start at 10"
I have a Gator Grip and marked the 9" line with a Permanent Marker Pen. I marked it so that the fish's tail has to extend past the ink mark before I keep them (on 9" size limit lakes). I do have to occasionally redo the mark, especially after the board gets a few cleanings.
I just took a piece of aluminum and bent one end much like the golden rule. Then cut it to exactly 10" and nailed one up front on my boat and one in the back of the boat. If the tail is longer than the end he's in the old live well.
I've heard of guys using a cheap galvanized framing square from harbor freight the same way. Bend it then cut it or else drill a hole at the 9" & 12"(Mississippi)mark.Sent from my E6810 using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
this one is pretty popular ....I just leave it on top of a damp towel on top of my cooler :popcorn

never take a measured just barely fish from warm water and toss it on ice , I know for sure that shrinks a fish ….just an fyi
I have both the golden rule and ez checker . Problem with the ez checker is that a thick fish will sometimes not get all the way down to touch with it's mouth shut . Back when 10 inches was the deal it was fine . They are still OK but you must visual make sure they get all in ,so to speak . I still use mine on the waterway. Golden rule is more reliable when action is hot . Take a hacksaw and put you own 9 " line on the golden rule .
And the OP is finally answered...lolSent from my E6810 using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
Thanks guys for clearing up that when I go to Mississippi not to use the ez checker. But when I am at green river lake I like my ez checker. Looks like that would be a great idea to invent.

After thinking on it some more, you could velcro it to your console.
Drill a hole in it......put on a shower curtain snap and snap or hang on your rod holders.
How bout the flee fly crappie gauge it measures up to 10 inches and you dont have to unhook your fish to use it i got min at crappie co for around ten bucks plus around 5 for taxes and shipping
Bought one as it will make it easier for friends on my boat to measure their shorts. Do wish it would measure at least 11" as I don't keep anything under 11" myself.
if the tail of said fishee sticks out past the end 1 inch it is 11 ,,,,,you 10 +1 = 11 ......just saying :Rofl
Now you want me to measure the tail that sticks over the end? :Rofl
Will they shrink in a fish basket
