Nice catch, and I bet they are good eating too.
I want to ketch some of them things , I seen em before in photos but never got to ketch one . very cool :highfive
Very cool! I have only caught a couple of fliers in central Arkansas. They are not very common around this part of the state. I have never seen enough to make a mess like that.

What are those? Never seen or heard of them out West. Kind of shaped like our Sacramento perch.
Nice mess of fish
Pretty fish. Only have caught a couple here in Mid-TN.

NICE!! I could stand some of that.
Can't say I have ever caught any.
They are common here in SC. A friend's pond has a nice population. I asked if he stocked them. He said he only stocked Bluegill, they were native to the stream that feeds the pond. Also has some really nice crappie that he also didn't stock.
They are similar enough to other Bream type panfish that many folks lump them all together, not realizing there are several species of " Bream".
Don't believe I've ever caught one. Apparently there are some around, but if I've caught them I didn't realize what I had.
That is a beautiful bunch of fish.
One thing that jumps out at me when identifying this fish is the large anal fin. It's much more pronounced on the Flier than Bluegill and similar panfish.

They are a beautiful fish. How are they for table fare? We have nothing like that in Pa.

Taste like chicken. :Rofl Very much like Bluegill and other panfish. Mixed together I doubt you could tell them apart.
I’ve never heard of them before either, what are they and I know this going to sound stupid, but why are they called fliers?
Here’s my sign- do they fly?
