Been there and done that. I netted a few and used them as bait on the fringes of the bait ball
I was trolling today, caught the yellow tail in the side . Them wam , catfish. No Crappie.
Wow I've never seen them like that.
That's why their so stuffed right now.

Robbie that surprises me. I would have thought all of the TN river, at least the part in AL, had them this way. I guess not. Is there grass in your lake?
I've seen them so thick at night around the bridges that it looked like you could walk across the schools of them.
Me and Mitch will be glad to help y’all out and send you more grass. :) I know the grass indirectly makes the quality of the crappie better but it directly makes them harder to catch
You and Mitch can just keep your grass over there our quality of our crappie will be fine and if I want to fish some grass I will just drive over there for a day :biggrin
