I use them when spider rigging. Buy several because they break easily. Cabala's has the best price on them.
I use them for fish near the bottom on flats or points. I use a leader attached to a barrel swivel and weight next the barrel. The bass crowd calls it a carolina rig.

From what I understand the walleye guys use them a good bit.
Great bait tipped with minnows for Sauger. I'm heading out now to use them.
I use them dragging 1/2 night crawler for walleye
I use them with a slip sinker for walleye with very good success. I use them baited with night crawlers or live minnows.

Interesting. Never knew there was such a thing
I started using them back in the 70's behind a walking type sinker (aka, back trolling), for bass & walleye. Bill Binkleman and Al Lindner were advocates back then, when they were editing for Fishing Facts Magazine. I still have a bunch of them somewhere. Very effective with live bait.

Great bait for these things. Caught 5 total 3 this size with 2 other bigger keepers.
These are the components for Lindy rigging. You can tie your own snells using a float jig, they make different sizes. Instead of the jigs being made of lead, they are made of Styrofoam, painted in different colors. Or you can buy a Lindy rig already made up with a float already on the rig. You run a slip sinker behind the Snell, behind a Lindy swivel or a good ball bearing swivel. You can use a Lindy walking sinker of a river slip sinker. The long sinker pictured is a Lindy no snag sinker. Walking sinkers come in different sizes also. You can get them in different colors also.Attachment 360039

I use them in he during the spring when fishing the whitebass creek run. I hook a minnow thru the lips and it keeps him 6 inches from the bottom. I purchased mines off EBay.
I tried them a few years ago but I had better luck using a drop shot in deep water.

I have often seen rigs that suspend baits in similar fashion and used a double hook crappie rig looking set up for weakfish off the new jersey coast back when that had tiny orange floats above the hooks , I would imagine those would be great in front of a split shot about 12 to 18 inches
Crestliner08 , I lived i northern Wisconsin for 50 plus years. Used the ones Bill Binkleman sold , had hook facing up. do you know if those are still available.
I don't believe they are. An internet search could prove me wrong though. Bill died many years ago, that I know. He was never as famous as Al & Ron Lindner. I have his 4 "Blue Books" on fishing success. Along with the original, "Big Book on Fishing" by Bill & Al and Ron Lindner. They were my fishing bibles back then. Great re-reading some of the old pioneers of a truly amazing bygone era.
