Site reported being slow....

Someone (Rick, thanks btw), reported the site was slow. I noticed too it was slow for me this morning. The thing is, I checked at the bottom of the page and it said the web page was being generated pretty quick. So this tells me it's a network thing. Then I did a tracert to crappie.com at the command prompt and it reported the network was OK too.

This is more informational, cause I wanted to share with you all that you can look at the bottom of any crappie.com page and it'll tell you how fast my server generated the page. This provides a clue as to whether it's just your network (or Internet connection), or the server.

Now as to what the problem this morning was, I'm not really sure. The server seemed to be serving fast, and the network seemed to be OK, at least in my case. So looking back, who knows, maybe my PC was doing a virus scan or update in the background. I DONO :scratchhead

I thought it was slow as well. I looked at the bottom and do not see the page generated display on my mac at work. Will check later on ipad at the house. Is this an option to add or install?

Hmm, now I gotta wonder if only I see it as an administrator. I thought everyone seen it, I'll go look.

TLS handshake is what I see it displaying waiting to perform most of the time whatever that is.

I just had to try 2 times to get on the site. Also when I log on the home page does not register my name, but when I click on the forums then it shows I.m logged in and I can navigate normally

I can't get the site to load at all. The app works fine. So not sure

I was seeing degradation yesterday afternoon. Slow isn't really the word. It was as if the server was not responding. Eventually, you couldn't get to any page. I checked 4 different network connections including my 4 T1 lines, a 4g line, and my 2gb up line in my office. All had the same issue despite the information being shown at the bottom of the page relating to page generation. We have to remember that information is only good on the page returned and not the ones that fail to return.

I'm betting a server issue or a host issue from the service provider.

Slab is going to re boot the server early tomorrow morning
