Just grab him up and pluck some off. Sure he wouldn’t mind......:Rofl
I am thinking not such a good idea
I love walking threw my chicken yard picking up feathers for jigs. Have done some weird ones for sure.

That Barred Rock made a good looking jig.

Attachment 356062 I have not seen any of these feathers in the coop. I will have to keep an eye out
I bet I could acquire a few. LOL they’ll work fine when you get em.

Nest boxes tend to be a good place to find them
I ended up with a couple of roosters that should have been hens. Plenty of feathers when they become soup
Making me want to get some chickens!
If you think you want 10 prepare to have 20. They have a way of following you home from the farm supply.
Man it's just so much easier to buy a pack of Gray Neck Hackle, lol! Looks like you have some good looking color chickens for tying, lol?

Its easier and cheaper to buy eggs and feathers. The eggs are better than what you buy in the store.
No doubt about that and as a matter of fact most of the eggs we have are not from the store, but I don't have any living chickens, lol!
I grew up on a farm with all kinds of animals, chickens of several kinds, Guineas, Peacock, turkeys, cows, horses, pigs, etc, etc! So understand the chickens and eggs thing and I do eat a lot of eggs!

I eat scrambled eggs for breakfast most days. Haven't eaten a store bought egg in over a year now.
I grew up with chickens and I really miss eating fresh eggs. Way better than store bought. Store bought eggs may be cheaper and easier, but buying my jigs would be too and I think we all know how that's been working out for me!
Very true. Buying fish would be the cheapest and easiest. Yet I still get in the boat and go try and catch some
I like this post, thanks
Most welcome.
