morning svh , not even a year being a spinning-rod fisherman yet , but it is much more fun than catfishing !! it has gotten pretty slow here , and very hot .. i go in the mornings about an hour and a half and about all i catch are blue-gill , around the size in your pictures and smaller....i still take a crappie rod and check out all the stumps and logs farther out from the bank , but have not caught a crappie or bass near them in weeks...i still catch the blue-gill along the bank , in the shade , with the slowest rod i have , a daiwa shock ultra-light , it flexes all the way down to the handle and is also the cheapest rod that i have , but it is lots of fun to catch blue-gill on...i have had luck using a beetle-spin with a 1/32 jighead with the tail of a crappie slider cut off and put on it ...i also use a 1\32 jighead with a chartreuse/silver tube body on it.....i am going to get some shrimp the next time i go to the grocery store and try your method ....hopeing for cooler weather soon and luck to you and the observers.
