Thnx for the comments guys. Got to get busy on the jigs, the cupboard is empty....
-
I like your chubby little friends. Good trip with less crazy people. I know what you’re saying about the cupboard being empty, mine is looking a little thin too. Good trip Sonny.

Them's some fine fish. I've always wondered what a 12" gill would fight like.
-
Just got pouring a bunch Tim - now painting - and tying....
Some 12s fight like crazy and some don't - never been disappointed.
-
Awesome fish ! Thanks for sharing.
-
All the colors of the rainbow, just beautiful! :ThumbsUp
-
thnx again for the commnets

again , what beautiful fish !!!.....they say coppernose bg are here in the deep-southeast , but i have yet to catch one ......lots of redbreast , regular bg , and other sunfish i cannot identify ( i found a page that gives the state record of all fresh-water species , and pictures of same ) , but they all look so much alike it it will take me some time to recognize them.......i am pretty sure that i could pick out a coppernose though !!!!!.....at least one of the kind that you catch........

ulr - these fish are Florida strain Coppernose stocked in 1973. I think pure strain CNBG are rare now - most have Redear genes in them. We also have big hybrid Green Sunfish, Redear, and Crappie. We don't have some of the beauties that you guys get - Long Ears, Red Breasts, Pumpkin Seeds...…
ETF - very fortunate. Next couple of weeks should get REEL good.

yes , i am fortunate to have all the pretty little jewels that you mention in abundance !!! and they fight hard , especially against extra extra ultralight rods.....they are great battlers and i cannot complain....but i still look forward to the day when that monster gill grabs my lure and the battle is on !!!!........thanks for the info , allen.

There's a place in Alabama that has the coppernose bluegills just as big as in southern CA. It's private water so only a few get to fish there. If you want to go one day, simply let me know.
