With the river finally dropping Mo and I had the idea of another fish and lunch at Old River. Looking at the river stages, the Friday or Saturday after Labor Day (9/6 and 9/7) look good with the BR stage likely around 25 ft and on a slow fall. Thoughts?

Water was still over the landing mid last week. BR stage is 30.8 and dropping so the landing should be open soon if it isn’t already. It’s supposed to continue dropping slow so it’ll be up in the woods for a while.

Has anyone herd any reports from there? The river is on a good decline loosing about a foot every four days.
we will catch something on the 28th.....least that's what I heard.
The MS River at BR is expected to be down to about 16 ft so OR will be at its normal level. Fish should be out by the rafts.

I haven’t heard of any reports, good or bad, but most of the people I know that fish there are more worried about hunting season than fishing. I’ve had some of my best trips in September before shutting it down for hunting season. Hopefully we do good. If not, it’ll still be better than being at work.Quote:

I fished it a couple weeks ago and couldn't find any. They certainly weren't under the houseboats and docks yet but they should start moving out of the trees soon.
I’ve never had much luck when the MS river is b/w 20-25 ft at BR. Hard to find. It should be all the way down in a couple weeks so they should be under the houseboats/rafts.Quote:
