Garmin has entered to trolling motor arena.
Bad news for Lowrance and Hummintird.

Id love to hear how quiet it is when you turn it with the remote, that’s the only complaint I have with my terrova is the noise when I turn it
Lots of interesting stuff coming out at i cast!
Long way to go to beat the I-Pilot. But I do have Garmin depth finders and they are great. We will see.
cant get much quieter then the Xi5, catch fish directly underneath it when its moving back up to anchor point.
i agree that motorguide does make a quiet running motor, but in my past experiences with several motorguide trolling motors i always had some sort of issue, the old johnson/evinrude trolling motors were by far the smoothest running quietest trolling motors i ever owned.
I believe Brett is going to be our Garmin guru! :highfive
Word is that Lowrance has their version launching in the fall of this year. I think its being called Lowrance "ghost".
Its 24 or 36 volt. Im OUT

Selling the name only, just like everyone else does! It will be a boat paddle for me if it gets more expensive. :Rofl I'm already about to steal Uncle remus's Fishfinder 8 and use it. :Rofl:Rofl
IMO....anybody has ALOT of work to do to beat out the reputation AND the longevity that MinnKota offers. Ive been running their motors from a MK 10 up to my current I-Pilot 70 lb thrust motor and I will tell ya that has spanned the past 45+ years and I haven't had a trolling motor to fail me yet.:juggle
And a $3000 price tag?!? I am one that isn't very interested in the offering.
To my understanding Lowrance has come out with a AC motor drive. DC voltage is converted into AC voltage. This technology has been used for years in the electric forklift industry. This means no brushes, extremely quiet and longer run time before recharging the batteries, especially the AGM batteries. I can't back the Lowrance TM because I have not yet seen or heard one in operation. I have no doubt it will be costly. But it will likely be one sweet TM.
