I learned something new following this new food plan for the past 3 months. I didn't know how to cut up a melon. Growing up in the country where they were a common item in the summer I was surprised to find a much better way to cut one. We eat a lot of fresh fruit on this plan so I did some research on how to best cut up and store.
Here's what I found:
Cut the melon in half as shown
Turn over and cut off top.
Then remove the rind in sections.
With the outer rind removed its a simple process to shave off the inner white part.Attachment 348080Attachment 348081Attachment 348082Attachment 348083

From there you can cut into serving size pieces.
If the lid won't close on your container eat top pieces until the lid will close Attachment 348085Attachment 348086
Pretty slick huh? This also works for cantaloupe and honey dew melons as well.
