On the Electronics forum they say they love to eat battery power
I haven't used mine yet but two of my buddies had to install a separate battery for it.

Redge --- Had a hard time springing for the Helix 7 -- If I needed another Battery fir that Fishing Eyeball I would have to get another Boat to tow behind my little Tub I fish out of --- that might be what I need to carry my tackle Box
It is the REAL DEAL !!!

Unreal how amazing it is. I've had mine for 8 months and have had no battery issues. Learning fish behaviors is really cool.

I would love to have one but need a cash infusion. Tape any cash donations under the life preserver box at Henderson boat launch. Thanks in advance.
as i understand -- when the livescope transducer is out of the water -- the black box is steady searching for the signal -- that's what runs the battery down -- I installed a toggle switch in line so that when I move and the transducer is stowed I can turn the black box off -- had first trip on the water for about an hour last night -- pretty cool
I also installed a toggle switch on mine. From my understanding it never shuts off if not put on a switch. With that being said it is unreal. It took me several months to bite the bullet but I am glad I did. Had a guy ask me the other day if it made me catch more fish?? My answer to him was I really think so. I got on some suspended fish the other day was fishing a jig tipped with a minnow. I caught a couple and they just quit biting my jig. I swapped to a minnow only and bam they started eating it. Without being able to see them and their behavior I would have just left and called it a day. I only run one battery on trolling motor and my livescope is hooked to it, I have not had the first problem.
I put a switch on mine also. After reading some of the post, I went ahead and installed an new 27 just to power the Livescope. Had to jump from the TM battery a few times before with my other electronics so I knew the LS would be an issue.
I just turn my transmit to off when moving spots, never had that issue. I fish 12 to 14 hours a day when I go same with my regular fish finders just hit stop sonar on my other one on the TM.
I'm running 3 12" screens all day with no issues.
