I’ll call this is my PB bluegill since I didn’t catch a lot of these and just started fishing for panfish late last year. Man I feel like a 10 years old running around with bluegill.

A good one for sure, congrats!
Bluegill are a fun fish to catch at any age, but the older I get it seems like the more fun they become. Not many people here target them, at least not like the Crappie so I just enjoy the less crowded waters and fish on. Congratulations on the PB, always looking for mine with each cast.

I don’t usually target them, more for crappies, but sometime I do use 1/32oz jig with #4 hook in hope for big bluegill as well. @d10 yup this is small sandy beach with small rock area where close to drop off to old river system. This is my prime fishing spot for bass, just caught a 4+lbs bass a coupler days ago. @ledhed yeah very close to DVL and Perris, Infact I used to lived on Moreno Beach by golf course about a mile from Lake Perris, too bad I wasn’t into panfish since then and I didn’t have a lot of luck there so we move to Canyon Lake. I saw that you caught giant side bluegill all the time at Lake Perris. Btw for now all fish are catch and release.
Those are nice fish anywhere. My first fish was a gill, probably a sunnie of some sort, that was about as big as my 4 year old hand. I may wander some but somehow I always come back.
