Why not? I would.
Heck yea, I would have a permanent reservation at that creek with my UL rod and reel in hand. Our waters are too high along the reservoirs to get to most of the feeder creeks, add poison ivy and snakes, I will wait until winter time for my creek fishing.
A big yes. This is why I own super UL and xtra UL Rods. I spent the day yesterday catching over 150 bluegill using my super UL. The fish were all between 7-8 inches. Having that rod made for a very fun day.

I don’t intentionally target waters with little ones, but sometimes it’s a happy accident. My boy wanted me to drop him off at the city park the other night, so I grabbed an ultralight and made a few casts with trout magnets. Sunfish colorations in general are amazing to look at and catching them on different soft plastics can be a challenge. Better than catching nothing for hours.
entertaining little fish for sure , and I will in fact target them for fun if given the chance .
heck my first fish was a real large bass that I foul hooked as it ran over to see what all the bream were after or to try to eat one of them .
pulled the hook out of it after quite a tussle and sure wanted to hold it . man was it a pretty colored up bass
