wiggler size. Euros SHOULD be about 3" long, real thick, and really chunky looking.. basically about 50% longer and 3 times thicker than those. I'd take a pic of mine but its pouring down rain and I don't feel like getting wet to go to the worm bins LOL.
Those could be euros, just really small.. they are almost impossible to tell the difference for the average person.. sometimes euros are a little more darker and purple-ish on the top side. If you had wigglers and euros together, the wigglers will almost always take over.
Bad news.
The one on the top left with the spiky tail is a perionyx excavatus, aka blue worm. The others are red wigglers. You can still keep that bin for panfish worms.
Can you let us know who sold you the worms so we all know who to avoid purchasing worms from? Lots of shady characters in the worm biz.
They were sold to me as European night crawlers but this is about as big as they get even after all the new beds . I’m feeding laying crumble
Jim’s worms. I kinda thought they should be bigger than what they are. Not sure what to do now theses work pretty good just have to use 2 worms to the hook
Well that's the problem, I had issues with uncle jims too. They are known scammers, you order red wigglers and they ship you an order that has reds and blues mixed together, which is not what you paid for. Blue worms are very brittle and dont make for a very good bait worm.
I'll pm you a supplier that gives you exactly the worm you pay for- and honest weights too.
Thanks guys typical my kind of luck
Definitely not crawlers ! What r u fishing for that you have to use 2 worms for ! Or do u just like covering up the Hook!
I buy from speedy worm. They are the best bait dealer ive found. The euros i got from them were absolutely huge. Maggots are good, waxies were amazing, crawlers are great.. just a great place to do business with.
If I don’t put at least 2 worms big bluegills won’t touch them
Got ya!
Here are speedyworm euros Attachment 344579
They way bigger than these little thing I have. Thanks
I know nothing about them I trusted uncle Jim’s worms to sell me the European night crawlers
If you buy your brood stock from a bait shop, or at least from a supplier that sells adult worms, you shouldn't get screwed over with euros. I mean those are the exact size I got in the mail, I've had them in my bins for a month and they are a fruit/veggie scrap eating machine. I would NOT trust ANY place to sell me juvies or eggs and give me what I ordered.
I did buy from Jim's a few years ago, bought red wigglers for a bin and they were good. I bought in the winter though so there probably wasnt much demand or orders going out form their shop at that time. Those worms were healthy and reproduced like rabbits until my bin froze solid this past winter and killed them all.
Thanks guys this is why I hate to buy stuff online
Uncle jims is known to mess up orders frequently, i'm pretty sure it's intentional. I ordered european nightcrawlers from them one time, and they sent me some euros, but there was red wigglers and blues in there too. I didn't order that kind of worm, and to add insult to injury they didn't even ship the correct weight. It's hard to find someone that ships you what you paid for. I tried ordering from a guy called northwest redworms, I ordered red wigglers and he sent me a wiggler/euro mix. It's alot more common in the worm business than people think- alot of times sellers run low on inventory, so they pad the order with the wrong type of worm, hoping the customer will be too green to know the difference.
That was me for sure I thought it was baby worms that I got. Uncle Jim’s wont mess any other orders up for me that is for sure.
