Well we finally got Linda's arm fixed today. We went in at 8 AM but they didn't get to her until 12:30 PM, wow what a wait. It turned out that the surgery went even better than he expected taking only 1 hr to do both the new metal head on the radius bone at the elbow and corporal tunnel procedure. It took only an hour rather than the almost 2 hrs that he though it would. I hope he didn't take any short cuts. We are at home now and she is resting in her bed while I cook up a shrimp okra gumbo. I will be making a potato salad to go with that along with some rice. That ought to make her heal.



I want to thank all of you my friends for the thoughts, well wishes, and prayers. I'll keep y'all updated as she heals. Dr. says she should be able to start therapy next week. I can't wait to see her with her fishing pole in her hand again.

Thanks so much for the update... it sure is good to hear that all went so well. Prayers that the recovery / therapy process will be smooth and uneventful.
I'm sure that gumbo and potato salad will surely speed her healing too.

Hey Paw Paw,
It feels like a weight has been lifted to hear Linda is now in the recovery stage.I would suspect the more you cook for her the faster she will heal.....The poor sac-a lait
are not gonna stand a chance.Thank You for the update post surgery.Prayers will help her heal also.

Glad to hear Mrs Linda had a good surgery, pray this takes care of it and she will heal and get back to what you'll enjoy, catching them sacs.

Today Linda completed her third week of therapy and her therapist says she is way ahead of most he's seen with the same repair. He says that she needs to lighten up on the exercise somewhat as she has everything working fine, she just needs to let her arm heal. She has good non restricted motion doing a tomahawk chop (or a sacalait lift) and her wrist is doing well. Linda has read all y'alls post and say thanks for all the wonderful prayers and thoughts. She would have typed it herself but she still is having trouble using her fingers.

Great news Gene & Linda. As someone who has been through 60 physical therapy sessions and counting... I can tell you that PT is the best approach to strengthening and retraining injuries, disabilities or surgeries that I have ever seen. I'm so glad to hear that Linda is making such encouraging progress and I'm sure she will continue to make even more progress as long as she don't rush it too much or overdo it (too much too soon).

Prayers will continue that the progress continues to a full recovery.
