Lake Kincaid

Well with all the high water everywhere my wife and I decided to try kincaid lake... it has to be one of the most beautiful places to fish in all Louisiana with that water clarity... which was also our demise! We fished all day long and couldnt BUY a sac a lait! Although I did catch some nice bass and took a couple home to eat that night! Btw those Jack fish yea I tried eating it too but learn real quick about those bones! Still trying to catch the first crappie in our new boat its turning out to be alot harder than we thought! Glad to hear you made it safely back to town, some purdy ditch pickles you got there. A cajun will eat just about anything but I agree to many bones in a jack fish.

That was my first time I ever catching a jack fish, oh well lesson learned... I was still excited to go to one of the toughest places people were saying it is to fish and catch... Little boost in confidence but I need to learn to put those bass rods down and just stick it on for Crappie!

I don’t like fishing where there’s jackfish.......Chicot had them years ago

When I see Cottonport for location, I think which one --- West Monroe was named Cotton Port back in the Steam Boat days

I technically live in a town called Longbridge but we don't have a post office so we all have cottonport addresses lol

I have passed through Longbridge a few times going visit in Hamburg. Nice quite country.

Kincaid is a lake to try at night, go down to the old rail road trestle to fish. The main creek canal comes thru there. Spent many a summer nights out there back in the day

We used to build a fire out there to fish at night. There used to be a cypress tree about thirty feet or so from the bridge the fish loved that tree.

Y’all, I’ve looked high and low for the lake map I had of Kincaid and haven’t found my copy. Got a friend in Alexandria that’s has a blueprint business and dabbles I lake maps. I’ll reach out to him and see if he has one.

The water at the dam was 10-13 fd and the tressle had a hole at least 20 fd.
