Is it a worm or a bug? Too big for a wax worm I think.
My opinion, not really my favorite Bob. I like the Shad bait from yesterday better.
I believe the picture makes them bigger than they look thank you guys for your input .
I stumbled upon the design 2 yrs. ago and have caught everything on it wacky rigged using a 1/32 oz ballhead.

A little under 2" allows the best action for panfish and hopefully many anglers will want you to produce your short sticks. Granted it looks like a Senko, but the GY doesn't make them that small though the wobble of the lure is the same - one of the best vertical twitch-baits I've every used.

whats different about that and just using a normal worm and cutting it into chunks?
I believe that a custom made mold for that you would have a different action then chopping up your plastic warms.Quote:

Tip: if the stick is 2", use a 1/32 oz ball head jig with #6 hook. You'll cast a nice distance using braid with a 12" fluorocarbon leader for best action.
The stick can be wacky rigged using a 1/16 oz ball head with #4 hook. You'll catch everything swims no matter the size!

Thanks for the tips on how to fish them. I was wondering about the hook size on the jigs. I'll be pouring some jigs in those sizes soon. I am used to fishing plastic for panfish but this will be totally new to me. I imagine a guy could fish these under a float too ?

1. The lure has weight and will cast 30' or more so using a light 1/32 jig head is #1 to allow the magic wiggle to cause those impulsive strikes. Very little rod tip action is necessary but a few twitches now and then with pauses imparted is all that's needed for sedentary fish (which normally accounts for 99 % of all fish) to attack. The rig places the head of the jig at one end.

2. Try 1/32 and 1/16 oz ball heads wacky rigged. (middle hooked for those not familiar with wacky rigs). Watch the lure go down at your feet to the bottom. The lure's body and tips should quiver subtly making it one of the best lure actions ever! Also, while the lure is mid-depth, twitch is a few times. This drives fish nuts around weeds and near shorelines or anywhere fish accumulate.

3. Using the 1/32 oz jig under a float should work but remember to pull the float a foot or more ever so often with the rod tip and pause for about 6 seconds or longer. The leader under the float should place the lure just above the fish so experiment. You may also want to shorten the stick 1/8" - 1/2" to present a smaller profile when fish are less inclined to hit the 2" size.
It's a great design and I have a way to make them myself, but more time consuming than using a mold.
BTW, the grub stick bodies were attached together by slightly melting two ends after the curl tails were cut off. Works as well as any stick!
I just ordered the mold. They have good quality stuff though a bit expensive.

No doubt you will catch at least 4 fish species with those when used on 1/32-1/16 oz ballheads ! Can't think of a better color selection. Again, if the size isn't working reduce it by 1/4" - 1/2".
