Caught 'em a week ago in 3'-5' of water. When cleaning fish some were sprewing eggs.
Lol I didn’t know that. I knew bass and bream did. Just thought Crappie would also. Thanks for teaching me something.

They go up in the shallows and lay eggs in bushes and brush. The eggs cling to the branches and the male fertilizes them. Sound kind of like frogs, now that I think about it. :scratchhead
Don't feel dumb. There is so much I don't know about all this it could fill a lake. I ran my boat without the drain plug in the center console well for the first time a couple of weeks ago and about sunk my boat. Ruined a battery charger I had sitting under the seat, so I bought an on board waterproof one.
The design of the hull draws water into the live well when on plane but I found that out the hard way. It's actually intended as a cooler with a drain plug.
Kept 12 crappie from High Rock,N.C. today, using minnows and cork. They were about a foot deep at the back of a cove.I didn't see any coloring on any males though. I will clean them tomorrow and check out the eggs. Fished from 11-5 pm.It was a very nice day. Thank you Lord
Caught most of mine sunday in 10-15'. There was another gentleman fishing blowdowns on the bank and he hit his limit.
I was catching them yesterday in 2'-5' at pick hill. Caught more then my limit but I never keep any.
