Had a great time with my partner Delbert Dalton. He has never fished for crappie and his only complaint was he never had to fish such long rods! :Rofl Del started off with hooking into a large catfish that didn't want to be boated and broke off about 20 feet or so from the boat. Sure was glad of that seeing he was in the middle of all the lines out. Then he got into the hang of crappie catching. He was hooked from then on. Only skill left to master is don't reel them in so far. We had a good time picking up a fish here and there and talking about all sorts of stuff. We stayed in the first spot we set up in while the other boats went different direction only to come back and catch up with us on the number of fish. Cloudy over cast was the ticket because as the sun broke through it was all but over. We managed to get 30 keepers and threw that many back. Kept one catfish for Mrs. Laura along with a bunch of crappies. Had a wonderful time fishing with Delbert and meeting up and seeing the crowd again. I do want to mention to Mac Crappie that this is a no wake zone, He knows what that means now! :Rofl ofishl I hope you check your trailer for a missing part because something set some sparks off in the road. Road trip was a successful event wish some more would have joined in.
