I don't know what it is but I wished somebody would convince him to come over to the Crappie camp Saturday at Scottsboro heck I would even go pick him up he's a hoot to watch and would definitely like to meet him.
And obliviously knows what he is doing on the water.
It would be as many or more people there than if it was POTUS coming to speak. I hope that doesn't get me fussed at.

I think slab is sponsoring him with slab sauce that's why he has the hat. I don't believe he comes on the site. He would be a great guest speaker for sure.

Richard Gene is a member here. Richard Gene is his user name. But he don't come on here much at all. He's too busy fishing and making great videos. He's a super guy. He don't do sponsorships, I just sent him some stuff and he liked it. Very down to earth, Elmo too!
He actually has a video fishing with Elmo. I was like one of the first people to sub him. Lol. Richard is a cool guy for sure. Just email him. He'll email you back. Just give him a day or so. We talk all the time. It's funny, you think he's a God, but best believe it takes hours - sometimes days - to make a 15 min video. Not like he catches them with every cast. But he is very informative and loves to help people learn about fishing. I love him to death. He was one of my first subs as well. He just caught some nice slabs at South Sauty. I think I missed the first wave of the spawn, but I'll be hitting South Sauty soon!
I'm going to email Richard now and send him this post.
I know right! HA. I used to fish the rocks last year ... minnow under a bobber 3 ft deep right off the rocks and slammed em! I usually just park at the parkinglot and walk across the road and just fish the rocks. Where the rocks meet at the beginning closest to that camp ground, there is a hole there. Big slabs. Filled up 2 coolers in 30 minutes. :)
I’d about bet they ant any fish left on that point already it could have been filmed from another direction and may people if any would have ever recognized where it’s at ! I’m for helping folk out as much as I can ! But when it hits media and spread all over the country! It’s not going to be long you bank guys ant going to have a spot left to fish! It’s already where you almost have to camp on those spots to get one !:biggrin
Fill me in Mitch. I must be the only one on earth that doesn't know where he was at.:dono

Thanks....
I love his videos, I love his sense of humor, and I know I'd love just hanging out with him, or fishing with him. I watch every video as soon as I see there's a new one. I will say this and since he's a member I hope he sees it. I wish and would politely ask that he would try to hide the areas he's fishing better. He and I fish a couple of the same spots and some of them have gotten so popular from him fishing them that I rarely go to them anymore just because the fishing pressure in those areas is now incredible. Use to be quiet spots.
That spot he's fishing in his latest videos will be fished dry in a few days. It's that obvious where he was. He rarely fishes a spot that I don't know exactly where he is.
I hope none of what I said came across as whining or ill willed, it's just simply a request.
I get your point FurFlyin but man I wish he would come to the Elk River on Wheeler and shoot some videos. I'll buy the gas and Elmo some snacks.

Yes even richard don't even tell exactly where he is fishing why should we be telling people his spots...iam all in helping ppl catch fish but when my Spot get crowd and I have to camp out iam piss.. I might tell a few friends my spots but not the whole internet.. Driving 2 hours to guntersville and get there to my spot and itz over crowd because of some big mouth 😮
I watch his videos and am more interested is his techniques than locations. I have been thinking about doing a video and some different ways to shoot docks but Im sure if anyone watches it and recognizes the docks that they will be overrun with boats.
Now yall know what we go through every year on Weiss lake.
Ok, I guess this all came about because I mentioned the location? Um, just because we may mention a spot doesn't necessarily mean that the fish will still be there, and if you don't know how to fish that spot it's pointless anyways. Everyone locally already is at these spots when you pull up anyway. I'm reading this Alabama Game & Fish mag now and it is telling the local hot spots. Ha! I drive over 2 hours and hardly ever have a spot to myself. And then again, I'll pull up and they'll be catching fish and I won't get a single bite. It's all about how you fish it and knowing what colors work there. Half of the time I don't even know where he fishes, let alone care. I just enjoy being on the water personally. Crappie move so much anyways. They can be loaded in a spot for a few hours and then gone the next. Crappie are still spawning in waves where I live, so I can go where I want to go. I don't see the harm in mentioning good places that hold fish to out of towners like myself. Some of us are out to feed our families, not looking for a trophy. I wouldn't want to drive 2 hours to not get any fish. That sucks. There are plenty of fish in the lake. You're not telling people where the brush piles are, you are just simply letting them know some good locations. It's not like they are private anyway. People say they don't mind helping people catch crappie, then why all the secretive spots? I get it though. I had a friend of mine who used to say don't tell people where we caught those. And we went back 2-3 more times and couldn't buy a fish. I'm not afraid to tell people where I have success, so if you want to know, inbox me. I'll help you catch the fish we all have come to love. Some folks have never even caught a crappie, so I find joy in helping them do so. But I do fully understand your frustrations because I have driven over 2 hours to my favorite spot, but if you don't get there before midnight you can hang it up. Yall have a blessed one.
I wrote earlier post when I was in a hurry to go to work. the reason I don't want to show the docks in a video is they are easily recognizable and when more boats start to fish them the owners will start hanging ropes and fence under them and no one will be fishing them. I do ask if you shoot docks, please stay off of the docks and try not to slam your boat into the dock or into th boats in the dock. If anyone comes to Tims Ford in Tennessee I will be glad to tell you what little I know about what the fish are doing .
The regular dude and the machine was at it today !
I would guess the fish he was on where bedding fish so it's just a temporary thing and that's probably why he didn't mind anyone seeing where he was. This is the main reason I wouldn't do a fishing channel or be a guide. If someone wants to learn I will teach them but if I get the vibe they just want to see where I'm fishing I'm done. We all spend a lot of time and $$ looking for places to fish and I'm not letting someone use me and wouldn't expect any of you guys to do it either. The shootist, I'm with you brother no need to explain

I see it both ways I guess. Some of the most successful fisherman on here have told me exact spots to try. But maybe it’s because they know they have nothing to worry about. Lol

Some fishermen tell their spots because they don't have time to fish it so they give it out to help people who are searching for fish... I will help people catch fish but not giving away my fishing hole.. If iam out fishing I see someone not catching fish I will always help them to catch fish if they are not catching any.. Don't use that excuses that they might know the spot but not able to catch fish because if they are on fire they will hit on almost anything... The person who comments on giving away spots because he too has a youtube Channel.. You talking about feeding family like they are Starving or something like catching fish is the only food they have. If I remeber right I think jiggah started a crappie club in facebook almost 200 member left the club because people didn't want to share imformation with him because even his oun buddies didn't want to go fishing with him because he would go and tell the whole world where exactly he was fishing at..I know if u watch a video u and a few thousand might knoe the spots but u don't have to tell the other thousands who don't.. There enough fishing pressure already.. Next crappie fishermen going to need 200 hp boats just in order to beat the crowd like these bass fishermen who can care less about us crappie fishermen..
Yall ant getting my holes I ant telling yall i dont have any lol !![emoji3][emoji3]

Great thread to read! I dont have any holes, just one public pond that I've caught some crappie in. They were stunted too. I'm new to crappie and dont have my boat lake ready yet either.

some are ticked that I show people the nice crappie I am catching on my home lake, which is probably the most underfished public lake in MO and on our private lake with hardly anyone fishes for crappie. I simply laugh as there are only a couple of riprap areas that everyone fishes and by that I mean when a dozen guys are on there they think it is too crowded. on a 6000 acre lake! LOL. it gets no pressure and the many fish a few guys catch are truly nothing in the big picture. I don't tell people exactly where I fish because in comparison I don't live there and my catch is insignificant and I am lazy and only fish in a couple of spots but do well anyway. So crappie move all the time as has been said, how many of us have been fishing on area getting not much and suddenly a school moves in and the bite is on? then you come back next day and diddly.
As far as RG, he entertains and informs and that's a beautiful thing.
