Headed down on the 4th around that area. Hopefully, I can give a good update with some good results.
I'm headed down Sat the 6th looking forward to your update.
Go to any lake in Alabama..
Went down Thursday the 4th with my uncle and it was a struggle that day with only 4 between the two of us. Friday evening I found luck in 4-6 fow on jigs and minners and finished with 14. Saturday morning I only managed 3 but my uncle still found them in 4 fow mostly on minners and got 15. Sunday morning I got 8 all in 4 fow on minners. Wasn't a bad trip and should have had more but weather held out for us. Chunk rock in 4 fow was the way to go for us. Good luck.
Lots and lots of good reports. Lots of people out too.
Wish I could go today! It's beautiful out!
Thanks for the reports ,we will fish Thur -Sat and give a report when we get back ,I plan to fish smaller coves off main lake ,looks like wind could be a problem ,but would like to fish docks on the main lake ,we will be staying directly across the lake from panther bay.
My brothers and nephew made it down Sat. Was able to get out Sunday morning and got 12 in 4 -12 fow before the rain ran us off, went back out Sun evening was only able to get 5. Just as CastAway said 1/16 jigs and minnows was the ticket.
Any suggestions for boat ramps in Blood River ? with 20 40 mph winds next 2 days we will be limited as to where we go, so plan B may be to fish Blood River or Cypress Bay.
Wildcat Creek boat ramp: Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources
There are some others at private marinas like Irvin Cobb but they like to charge a ramp fee.
I had 12 keepers today, 8-15 fow..
ON WOOD!
Fished yesterday and today in Blood River. Caught 15 yesterday in 10-14 fow Caught 16 today in 4-6 fow.

We fished cypress bay , panther bay , Hughes bay, and a few others . Water temp mid to upper 60s, 2 boats fished 2 + days only managed about 12 keepers. Caught a few smallmouth, catfish bluegill, Hardly anything for how hard we fished . No yellow bass ,and very few fishermen out there which should be a clue, That lake has certainly changed from when we 1st went there 10 years ago, I don’t think I will be back, , Thanks everyone for your help
I will always come back, next year we will be living there. We have gone through these issues on Lake Michigan at least 3 different times, there are adjustments but we still catch fish. I will not give up.
Well we made it back home Sat. evening. Sunday it starting snowing and didn't stop until we had almost 6". Had a good trip, the numbers were down but the size of the fish we got were good. Will be back late Oct. or early Nov. for the fall bite. Got 10 crappies and a couple cats Friday evening before pulling the boat. Attachment 339381
That's some nice looking fish and it sure beats sitting at home. I personally like fall and winter fishing when things are more stable.
Nice! Glad you guys connected with some quality fish on your trip down.
