Seems like everything changes
Every time I go. A few weeks back it was Crappie day. Same area, same baits, and fish after fish, some on every cast. 2 or 3 weeks later I couldn’t hardly find a crappie, but loaded up on the banner Warmouth with a couple comfortably over a pound. On both of these trips other species were taken, but not many. Today was bluegill day, CNBG to be exact. Caught several that were 7 to 8” and the ones in the pic and two more pushed over the 9” mark, good fish for the area. All 5 came from a 100’ stretch of shoreline and every one was within 2’ of the bank. The fight was great, really gave me what for. All were also extra thick and would have made a dandy sammich with the fillet from one side. The wind picked up about ten, and the boat traffic wasn’t far behind so off I went looking for whatever had changed in the past weeks on the river. The places I checked were already worked over and produced a couple of small fish. I lean toward no wake zones but apparently those signs are merely suggestions and many pay no attention to them. Frustrated, I headed for the ramp. All got the CPR today and I look forward to this stupid cold I have to be in my rear view mirror before I go next time. Hope y’all get a few and til I see you next time........
