Where would you guys recommend to stay around Truman? Thinking about coming down from Iowa for a few days. Will have a boat so will need room for that. Thanks in advance for any info!

There are a bunch of places to stay around Warsaw .
Might try googling Warsaw lodging.
There are also campgrounds if that would interest you.
Enjoy your fishing , catch a bunch , good luck.
Truman has several arms...Grand,Pomme,Osage,and Big and Small Tebo.
Where you stay would vary as far as what part of the lake you are going to fish.
You can check at Bucksaw Marina. They have a few different choices and they have room for a boat.

Never been on Truman before, I'll stay wherever the best fishing is! I'll take all the help I can get from you local experts! I spider rig and single pole so can do whatever
Or you could stay in Clinton. Places there have boat spaces with electrical outlets. Several places to get grub also.

I stayed at Osage Bluff marina and hotel several times in the past. Full service marina, rooms are clean and everyone was nice.
Plenty of room for your boat with hookups.
Bucksaw, floating kitchenettes w/ a boat slip. Done.

I’ve stayed at Bucksaw, Clinton Hampton Inn, Grand River Resort and the Parkfield Inn in Warsaw. My wife likes the Parkfield Inn the best so that’s where we will stay the next time. Bucksaw was ok but flannel sheets in June was a little odd. Also the boat slip I rented had lots of folks fishing on the dock making me not feel very secure about leaving anything of value with my boat.

Hickory Hollow, hands down. Cabins, plenty of room for your boat. Flexibility to ramp in wherever you want to. With water high that is a good option to have.

Fair point......I should have been more specific. We prefer the uncovered slips right in front of your room. Never had anyone not in a kitchenette near our rig.Quote:

We always stay at Reel and Trigger resort over by the State Park. Reasonable rates and close to free ramp. Cabins have plug ins for boats. Neat clean cabins and nice folks working there.
Bucksaw is a great place we’ve stayed at several times. Restaurant, store, boat slips and great people.Quote:

I believe that Bucksaw ownership changed late last summer. Has anyone had any interactions with the new owners, good or otherwise?
Us guys from eastern Iowa always go to Sterret Creek. Plenty of boat room and out door outlets. Just a lil boat ride if you like fishing the Clinton end.
