Think they did that to make it easier to Disassemble and stow in locker in the bigger boats.

Those clamps on the shafts should make it WAY easier to move the seats around if your deck is not on a flat plane. The original is made to such tight tolerances, it is hard to adjust.
Those look a lot easier to deal with! I don’t curse but the set I have now has made me almost want too several times! :biggrin
I feel the same! It would be nice if we could purchase just the arms.

I just got 2 SideKicks that Tom picked up at Millennium in Pearl less than a month ago. They are the old style. That new arm looks like it would work better for clients who are constantly turning knobs and trying to adjust something they know zero about.
