I want to catch some crappie this spring with my fly rod.
I made up a dozen jigs without a head so I could cast them.
Any one tried this?

Looking good, sounds like a lot of fishing fun, I will have to try that.
skip you should post a video of how to make those. They look good.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/XU...x=w996-h428-noThis is a weedless balanced fly that i tie and use under a float. The head is a brass bead. the hook is a #10 Matzou. Probaby weighs about 1/100 oz. weedguard is 10# mono but can be tied without it.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Qf...Q=w996-h539-noHere is a 14" crappie I caught on this fiy without the weedguard off my dock several days ago. I fish it under a weighted float on a spin rod but you could fish on flyrod also.

I have no idea why the pics are not visible. I can see them on my computer but i cannot see them on my smartphone. I put them on by copy and pasteing from my gallery photos from my phone. this has happened before. don't understand this.
Last year I used something similar on a spinning real with a lead shot about three foot above it. Seemed to catch fish but I lost it on a snag and never repeated the experiment.
It's really easy to upload a picture to this site if you choose, then it will be here if you ever want to use it again. All you do is click on GO Advanced, then click on Manage Attachments, then Add Files, then choose file/pic, Then Upload, then click on Insert Inline (just make sure your cursor is where you want the pic!) and you done so click Done.

Nice flies Tom. They would do well down here in all the weedy stuff I have to deal with.
