Anybody have a report on the condition of the areas of the lake?

I just got in. Overall the water all around was dingy but very fishable.

Caught 60+ in just a few hours

Yessir all single pole jigging.

Any chance I could team up with you to learn The lake? I have a great boat, but tired of getting skunked. I grew up in the mid west running weed lines.

I’m happy to take you around to what I know about High Rock. It will be a couple of weeks before I get back over there but we can talk. I haven’t been catching much and just fish single rod plastics although I’m seeing fish. Pete is a guide and does know how to get them to bite. If High Rock gets clear, I should be able to help.

Baby girl is home for Spring Break and I’d like to put her on some slabs tomorrow. Have not seen much activity on here. Anyone have a recommendation on area of the lake, depth, brush vs docks, etc for jigging? PM me if you prefer.

I marked lots of fish in the channel in Flat Swamp but either because of the mud or my technique didn’t do well. I’d think the water should be a little warmer and clearing so wonder if casting or slip float might work. I saw boats spider rigging out from the ramp and further down the lake at the first s turn. Fished about 9:30 til 3. Started extremely slow as in 0 fish until 11’ish. Tried a location i’ve never been before, far end of Crane Creek, under the bridge. Once we went all in on tight lining minnows, started catching some. Ended up catching about 35, with about half being good keepers. Most had a good chunk of eggs started in them, so we released all. Water temp in Second Creek early was 49. Got up to 52+ in Crane by mid day. Second Creek had a lot of floating debris. Water was dingy, but I wouldn’t say muddy for HR. Ended up being a good day with Baby Girl, but most are, fish or none.

Glad you found some during spring break!

Sorry ive been soo busy here the last week that I hardly have time to open my laptop.
As far as where i fish, I am not going to air exactly where i fish to the thousands of lurkers that are on here looking at high rock, but just a slight tip, I fish areas that take a little effort to going to. 75% of the people that fish HR own little john boats with 9.9 HP engines and never leave sight of the ramp. I go places that take a little effort and some gas getting to! hope this helps narrow things down just a little bit!

I have not been on HR since the last report, but expect it to be clearing up good now.
