Hey guys I plan on giving it a shot tomorrow. (Lake Palestine- East Texas). Haven't been out since end of October. I have brush piles in all depths of water. What depths do you think I should try first?

if you have some on the north end of the lake in 10 to 15 fow I would look there first
they might still be out deep though , I have heard some guys were really putting it to them way up shallow in waders on brush a few weeks ago …..my 2 cents
Search'um out..... Good luck and bring us some pics and what worked.....
Thanks for the advice Ketchn- I can tell you where they are NOT! I fished a dozen brush piles from 10-25 foot of water. Not a bite! I am planning on going again sunday with a friend.. we will target prespawn areas in shallower water. Ill post an updated report.
So you didn't try shalla today?
tried one pile in 8 foot of water in a back cove... nada
I caught a few yesterday evening on a small lake north of Tyler. 16 to 20 fow 7 to10 feet down on electric chicken. They were holding on brushpiles.
Dang man thats wild.. Palestine is soo close and the crappie were just not on the same pattern. Ill fish shallow tomorrow and see.
I hope to fish Fork tomorrow. I'll send a report if the wheels dont come off the wagon.
No joy on Lake Austin. Fished shallow, on brush and not, fished deep, on structure and channels. Wore out my SI and DI on my Helix 10. Heard some folks are catching but no word on where. Good time to get boat, motor, and gear ready for the awesome day I start finding them again.

If finding them isn't hard enough this little cold front might move them back deep as I go shallow lol. Supposed to be 49 here in the morning.
Plus we got an inch of rain in about 45 minutes this morning.
headed out in a few to cork fish for spawners …...hope I aint ding dong ,but I think I can find some , no graph john boat program
My fishing buddy got sick didnt get to go this morning. I might try to bring the boat out this afternoon if I can get the honey doo's done.
Good luck Ketchn- post a report please, good or bad.
I must say right now on my lake it is not easy catchn and there's no pattern... Early morning and late evening bites are several times better than than midday...... Lots of moving lots of color and action changes will put fish in the boat..... Did I mention it ain't easy right now.....
I tried to pull a Ketchn on my lunch break yesterday at a creek spot, but I didn’t end up ketchn anything but a coupla these big ol ditch pickles. rotfl They haven’t even hit the hole or the bend in here yet.

I don’t know why the pictures sideways
Found some- caught 20+ in 25 FOW. Hope this helps someone fishing the next few days
Treezy, did you fish Fork? I fished Fork today. Started in 23 fow and started working my way shallow. Water was 50 to 51 degrees. Couldn't find anything for several hours. Finally worked my way into a shallow cove. Water temp jumped to 58 degrees. Ended up catching some big females in 2 1/2 fow jigging brush. Largest was 14 inches. Smallest 11 1/2 inches. All caught on purple/chart.
