I seen some terribly large clack crappie come out of Cali. and that there is one of them ,very nice
do yawl have any white crappie over there ? I never see much about whites out west ?

Thank you to all that have commented, back in the 80's Clear Lake had a huge population of crappie. We had both black and white crappie. I think the state record white crappie still stands and was from here. My numbers could be a little off, but I think it was caught in 79and weighed 4.6lb. Sometime in the 80's the crappie population took a nosedive for reasons unknown, or unspoken of. This left few fish and soon few fishermen. Green carp fishing got better and better leaving crappie almost forgotten about. It took twenty years for the crappie to get back to great numbers. They quickly disappeared again, and we made a big push to reduce the limit from 25 to 10. Never happened, today we enjoy a healthy population of black crappie, no white have been seen, tomorrow, who knows. Sorry for the long post.Quote:
