Took the grandson out for cats. Couldn't find shad, so used blood bait, hot dogs, and minnows, bank lines and balloons. NG. To dock, where grandson got the first crappie, then zip. I got fifteen, mostly 10"-10.5 "ers and a few big bluegills. Very nice day, but that north wind came up after dark, and the guys got out their coveralls. I only had a light shirt, but fortunately, my handle is BIGSKYfisherman, where 40 degrees is shirtsleeve weather:biggrin
A buddy and I hit it last evening. He didn't get bit, I got a 13 and a 15 and a bluegill, and the other people got a total of one big sand bass or a small hybrid. The two that I got were hugging the brush and hit a white ice spoon with black dots.
Very slow at Cobb. Got a 14.5 on first drop, then zip the next hour and left. No one at the dock.
Never been to Fort Cobb lake so I googled mapped the place. Sure a lot of circles on the map. Never seen anything like it before....Attachment 369433

Those are from irrigation pivots that water a crop.
I'm new to the area, is there a fishing dock on Cobb?
Sunset Cove Marina @ $5 apiece. Free dock about 20 yards away. Pay dock usually produces better. VERY slow right now, but spawn should start in next couple of weeks.
Plan to hit it tomorrow with a couple of friends. Maybe try from the dock and the bank.
Three of us fished from 1:30-8:30. We totaled 5 males, all good-sized. Of the 20 or so other fisherman, only 2 fish were caught.
Fish not on the banks yet. Got four small keepers and a 5-6# largemouth.
Fished the bank and did no good. Got in the tube and got a 13" in 12 feet of water. Moved to some brush and trees and picked up 4 between 13" and 14" in the last 15 minutes I fished. Very pretty evening and there were some nice folks to visit with.
Glad you got out and tried em BigSky

Got out Friday and caught 8 keepers over brush piles in 16-18 FOW. Today I managed about 10, all released to swim another day. Brush piles in 18-22 FOW. Hair jigs both days. Spent most of my time today trying to locate the saugeye.
Just got the Livescope set up last weekend and HAD to try it out. What an awesome tool. It’s amazing how many jig sniffers there are that would rather hang out with your bait instead of eat it. All brush piles less than 16’ depth were this way both days.
Pics are too big to post. If I figure that out I’ll post a couple.
Post us some pics, we love em!!
I caught more fish before I had livescope, however it is way more fun now.
