Well i decided id learn to powder paint.
All was ok till i melted a blob of led straight down into the mouth of my heat gun.
Poof!
It was done.
Saving money sure costs a lot.

2 inches above and a count of 8 while rotating back and forth. Try that and see how it takes paint. Can always add a count or 2.
If you dip jig in powder and it’s not shiny just lightly reheat till shines. I heat with heat gun 5 seconds, flip to other side 5 seconds and dip in powder on 1/8 jigs, 3 seconds for 1/16

An alcohol burner works pretty well, and it is silent.

Tried to make one but it flopped.
Had an old oil lamp which is working so far.

Are y’all making the jigs or buying them and paint them

That's a FACT. Love the comment, I'm gonna steal it. LOL
Instead of buying a new heat gun, use a propane torch. About a 1 1/2-1000 count on a 32nd is enough, a 2 1/2-1000 on a 1/16 if you hold them out past the tip of the flame. And it doesn't hurt the torch when molten lead falls in it..... I learned that when developing the 1000 count timing on how long to heat them. LOL Sometimes I have to hold them back on the fire for a second or two if the powder doesn't turn shiny after dipping.
Get with a good teacher!! I went and stayed about 4 hours with CRAY , he taught me a lot in a short period of time , I am about ready to order up my pot , molds, and powder paint set up , already have a good heat gun , and air pump , but I can tell you I would have went the wrong direction and spent way to much money with everything if not for cray ,

I use a propane torch to heat and dip like mentioned above. If i want a long lasting finish I take the extra step of putitng them in an old toaster oven and baking them at 350 for 15 minutes. You just need some sort of wire rack to hang them on. I use a little stand that was meant for beer can chicken. I decided I hate any chicken not fried so I didn't need it any more.
Jigs, already painted?
I get them unpainted and do something with them

Unpainted

the Alcohol can with wick is all I use... then once painted put them in oven to harden.... all we use work good for us.
I cure everything I paint using the toaster oven method. If I’m going to go thru the trouble of painting, I want it to last!

Pretty color! I have a couple colors of powder paint I haven't used yet. Figured I would use a candle or heat gun. I need to check into alcohol burner I guess?? :dono
So far I've just been using fingernail polish.
Where do you get an alcohol burner?

What method do you use for cleaning the jig eye out?
I have a 1/16 jig i cut off the tip, and straightened it out.
Jam it in the eye whilst its still warm.

Painting Jigs, my fish don't seem to matter that my jogs aren't painted at all. Don't tell them and they won't know.
Whatever you do clean those jig eyes out before you throw it in the toaster oven to cure it.

You have many comments here, but a heat gun from Harbor Freight is by far the best option. No fire, no concern with melting lead, safe and efficient. Holding jig by eye when heating and covering with powder coat is by far the best, easiest, and most affective way of keeping eyelet open.
Or you have to drill it out
