Day time Amber is best for me. Dark or really overcast days seems to be blue for my eyes. You just have to try them because we don’t all see the same way. But those are good starting points.
For me I use blue as fish will show up as white as I only look for fish I run my SI chart speed faster as this elongates fish and easier for me to pick them out. I do not care what is on the bottom, I am not looking for the perfect picture or what something looks like until I do find fish. Find fish then I will swing around and go over the area slower and use DI and SI on different passes to figure out how the fish are relating to the structure they are on.
Don't rule out Inverse ...

Inverse ??? didnt see anything about it reading what I downloaded from HB on the Helix units
Rickie is that a picture from running on simulator mode. I like the way that shows up on screen.
Thanks. Your help is much appreciated
There are times I actually like the inverse just depends on conditions.
I typically use the amber palette, but I may try inverse after seeing Ricky’s post. The Blue has just never popped for me. Everyone’s eyes are different I guess.

Don't get stuck on one color palette. It can vary for me depending on lighting, sunglasses, and whether I'm at console or bow. If I'm not seeing anything, the inverse sometimes shows they are there.
Very true everyone is different for looking at structure Amber for me works great but for finding fish the amber to me hides a lot of fish looking for that white mark from fish.
What color do you prefer for when strictly looking for fish?

I prefer Blue as I stated above I only look for fish as I do not care about having a pretty perfect picture. That is why my scroll speed is set faster as fish will show as longer white marks, makes it easier for me to see them versus a tiny spec.. Rocks are the hardest to pick fish out of when SI`ing rock I will turn down my sensitivity, may not even see the rock but fish will still show up as white marks.
I my Helix's I like the green for SI and black and white for DI.
I like the amber and green.
