If I have a Lake Master card in my helix 7 that only has one SD slot can I still take screenshots? Or record any kind of playback?

I wouldn't think you could as long as the map card was in the slot. I think most map cards are "read only" cards, so you couldn't "write" anything to them like a screenshot picture. You "could", however, put a blank sd card in the slot long enough to take some screenshots, then replace the card with your map card. Cumbersome, I know ... but, with only one slot available that's probably the best you can do.
I took many screenshots when I was using my Lowrance Elite 5 DSI unit (1 slot) and didn't have a map card for it. But, now that I have a Hook 7 & a map card for it, screenshots won't be my primary use for that slot. But, then again, I haven't had the unit/card in use (yet), so there is a small chance that the map card won't be all that much help ... so I could end up with a blank card in this unit & posting screenshots once again. :dono
I kinda need screenshots so that I can remember water temps and depths for my log book. Old age and forgetfulness are a booger bear. It's not alzheimers yet I don't think I'm old enough for that yet.

I have a Solix and not a Helix, but can the Helix store screenshots internally? That's what I do with the Solix--take a number of screenshots while fishing and then when I get back to the dock, copy the images down to the SD card, then delete those screenshots on the Solix. Not sure if you can do that with a Helix, but I'm sure someone will know.
Looks like I'm gonna have to start remembering things. I'm sure my wife will be impressed.

Put a small notebook/pen in a gallon (or quart) sized ziplock bag and keep it in the boat. Write down those factors and then transfer them to your log book. That way you only have to remember two things .... (1) notebook is in the boat -- (2) use the notebook when you would normally take a screenshot. :biggrin
I found this ...
Helix 7 Chirp DI
Buts that's still not 100% if snapshots can safely be saved to a LakeMaster card ...
I'm still looking ...

I do have SI and it is a G2. And thanks. One of the guys on there did say toy could take screenshots with the card in. But he didn't say if or would mess or up. The card is in the locked position though. I'm still not gonna try it till I know something for sure

That's kinda my last option. Will take a pic with my phone before I go that route I think.

I've found where snapshots can be saved to a Zero Line card ...https://www.humminbird.com/sites/hum...e-map-card.pdf
But still no documentation that SnapShots and Recordings can be saved to a LakeMaster map card ...
I wouldn't risk corrupting the LakeMaster map card ...

There was an update for the larger Helix units (version 1.4) that allowed snapshots and recordings to be saved to a Navionics map card. Don't know if they made a similar change to the Helix 7's.
I'd opt for the phone pictures .When I'm with a buddy I'll take a picture of a hot spot on his screen then if we are in my boat we can retrace our steps. You can also input the coordinates from your phone into your DF later at home. I usually have my phone with me so it's my best option for storing info. You can create folders for each lake and store screenshot pictures according to each lake.
