I have a Piscifun baitcaster it is roughly what you would call a 50 size. I have a Core 50 on a GLoomis NRX 852C that I have fun casting small Crappie size crankbaits and 1/16 ounce jigs tipped with plastics for Walleyes. I wanted another setup but did not want to spend the money on another Core 50, I took a chance on the Pisicifun reel $89 versus $350 for the Core, I was really surprised how well the Pisicifun performed with the lighter spool purchased separately and a Kistler Helium 3 7ft in MLXF it will out cast my Core. Is it as smooth as the Core no, is the drag as good no, but it is not that far off. Would I buy another you bet with out hesitation will it last as long as the Core probably not but I can buy 3 of the Pisicifun for the price of one core.
I have a Piscifun Flame spinning reel in 2000 size on a dock shooting rod. I bought it just to try - it is ridiculous quality for very little money; it has 9 bearings, and 3-disc drag. I usually buy the Daiwa Revros (ebay over-runs, made in Vietnam) for my inexpensive crappie/bream/trolling reels at about $35, and this feels as good for less money. Time will tell if it lasts, so far it is holding up fine. I like it better for trolling rods than the Shimano 1x cheapos.
I try very hard not to fish with reels that I cannot pronounce their name!
Online reviews seem to be pretty good. Great value if quality holds!
Pisces (pi-seez) is the zodiac fish sign, so I pronounce it pi-see-fun. Fishing is fun.
I've heard good things about the fly reels.
They're made in China, like 99.99% of the rest of your tackle.
I don't know - I've actually never owned a single Pfluger! Not sure why - they come highly recommended - but, I've always been partial to other brands. I guess it is the next size up from the usual ultra-light (500), and light (1000) size reels, whatever that is. I find the bigger spool diameter casts farther with less line memory, so I usually get this size for crappie/panfish.
They don’t have the 1000 size anymore. Smallest is the 2000 size. Wondering if that would be to big :dono
I have other reels that are to big and I don’t fish them.
I found this review and they seem to have 1000 and 2000

They are OK, but I prefer the better reels.
..
hello superdave
i have a few pfleuger size 25's and the Piscifun flame 2000, the 2000 is noticeably bigger that the pfleuger 25's maybe Piscifun offers a smaller reel. . i used it all last summer, no complaints, i also want to add that the Phantom bait casting reel is quite a reel, i have 3 of them along with a new daiwa ct100. 2 lews lfs and a mp. i landed a 6lb.10oz on the phantom no problem, and it will cast lures at distances equal to any on my baitcasters and then some.

I bought three of the spinning reels 2000 to put on long lining rods. Very smooth reels but haven’t fish yet this year due to the regular flu and sinuses stopped up. Maybe this week or next week I’ll get my crappie fishing started
I bought a 1000 and a 2000 about 3 years ago.
Both wrapped the line under the spools while retrieving on the 1st trip out.
They've been sitting in the boxes ever since, moved on to better quality reels.

hi slowhand
being you mentioned about line getting under the spool, it has happened to me a few times also

I personally use Daiwa Regal LT 1000 size. The only drawback I've found is that it isn't a shallow spool, so when using light lines, it takes a bunch to fill it up
I have a Piscifun flame, nothing special, have it on a long-line rod which I rarely use anymore. It is similar to any other cheapo Chinesium reel. I'll probably give it away to a young 'un just starting out. My taste in reels has gotten quite expensive ... oh well.
