Dang, looks like they didn’t try to conserve on staples!
prolly stainless I bet …..
Looks like a new Knee..If so Good Luck..Do what Doc says....Do your Therapy as required Religiously ++ ...Stationary Bike is great esp Recumbent...ride ride ride...I asked Doc How much he said all day if you like and smiled....I had one replaced in March and ore replaced in May...Best thing I ever did...its been almost a Year now...
My was ;Surgery 1 1/2 h and walking with walker couple hours later(hobbled)..PT next day and went home..PT came to house for 2w. Then I saw Doc.released me to Drive and said go to PT at a location.Cane or walker if needed (never needed).Did that for 4w...Went to Doc and He Released me from Him and PT... and said come back in a year..OH forgot come back in 4W and we will do other Knee.. well I did and it was basically a replay of above..
It was A life changing experience for me..Get around like I was 30y old again not 73..Pain was minimal some swelling (ice and elevation took care) I took 4 pain pills with each surgery..and Tylenol got me through the rest in both cases...The Therapist would definitely get your attention now and then..
Sure I know lots of folks that had a Worse exp than me...But thats my story thought it might be comforting,,,and every one is diff
Dr Brian Parsley did both of mine .In Houston..and I can't Thank him enough!
I wish you a speedy recovery.
That picture makes me squirm! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
Hey Tom,ask them to give you the removal tool when they come out. I actually got a new one and the used one on my last knee. I have zero idea what I will use it for but any tool that will take 31 of those out of my leg with zero pain and zero blood has to be useful for something important.
Your leg looks great! PT PT PT PT!

You will be back in that toon again before you know it. Heck you may even catch a crappie or two. Get well soon. I will be looking forward to seeing your reports and pictures for sure.
Leg looks good.:cheers2It looks like you fell in while long lining and caught yourself. :yikes By the way, I heard Curtis already has litewire hooks in the works. You too late. :biggrin
I am familiar with that tool. I gots lots of metal parts from kite crashes on Lake Harris and Little Lake Harris Florida in the 70s. My kite had a 40ft wingspan. Towed behind a big mastecraft to get me airborne. Landing was a controlled crash. I loved it.

Boy, that photo brings back memories. Looks just like my knee was in April of 1989. I had an ACL repaired because I was trying to be a jock following my divorce.
A coup!e things I learned is to do the therapy and push to do more. And the most important is that drugs are your friends. Use them if you need them.
Good luck!
Wishing you a speedy recovery. I’m glad they glued me up instead of the staples....going in soon for hip, gonna glue that up too....LOL.
Regards

Oh this whole thread is about knee surgery? I thought you had a collection of right footed socks with no matches that you were wanting to get rid of. I've got a bunch of left footed socks that I need a match to. Never mind that though wish you a speedy recovery

I had Knee pain for 15 y I gave up fishing and hunting...and Wheelchair next...SKEED ain't the word TERRIFIED is....
Never had any Surgery other than Carpel tunnel on L hand... and they only put that arm to sleep and I was awake the whole time..It was no problem...and 25y ago.....
Found a Doc that I really felt comfortable with and does only Knees and Hips for 20y +...That talked like a human not a stuffed shirt..He did surgery at Orthopedic Surgery Center. Not a Hospital full of SICK people...He said it helped reduce chance of infection and other illnesses...
Was it My Surgeon /the Surgery Center/ the Staff of Nurses and Doc/the Therapist/my attitude...That made it a Pleasurable Experience..I do not Know..But a few days after my left knee replacement ,I could not wait to have to have the right done...10 w later they did right..Same crew, same place ,same outcome...I can Fish and Hunt again and get around like I was 30y old with no PAIN and no PILLS no REGRETS and next month it will be 1y...I said if I had another Knee I would do it again in a minute..
Are you rubbing the wound with Slab Sauce? Get well soon!
OOOOCH.....:yikes
My surgeon ,who replaced both of my knees and did carpal tunnel surgery on both hands, is amazing. The 1st time I had his surgery, he came in prior to the surgery to talk to my wife and I. After discussing the procedure, he asked if we minded if he prayed. MINDED???? We were blown away as he got on his knees next to my bed and prayed for me, his staff, a steady hand, and healing. Later, our Pastor and Music Director were at the hospital prior to another surgery and were in the room with us when Dr. Morgan knelt next to my bed and prayed. To say they were blown away was an understatement.
Having an orthopedic surgeon pray for me before surgery did a lot to get rid of any apprehensions I might have had.
My only regret, besides missing my Dad's funeral during my back surgery, was why did I wait so long and suffer so much before I had both knees replaced and my spine fusion?
If you’re posting about it and poking fun, you must be feeling pretty good. Glad to hear it’s going good and I’m looking forward to hearing rehab stories, I have a few. Feel better and get moving soon and you’ll be doing everything you did before in no time.
