Not a crappie but a bream, I think I didn't eat fish for several months after that. Naw I lying maybe a month. Lol[emoji23]

Wow, I didn't realize they were that common. I have fished a long time and that's the first one I have caught.
Have caught many with a parasite in them but none with a leach! Usually cut the blood spot out of the meat and keep the rest!
I wonder if it attached itself while it was that size or has it grown with it it's whole life

Lamprey, not a leech. Squish it dead. Never seen one in Ga..
Man I caught several 2 summers ago at Guntersville Lake... freaked me out ESPECIALLY when they have leech holes all over them!

You should have put that lamprey on a hook. I bet that would be a terrific bait. Maybe not for crappie but for something.

Yep, I've caught several fish over the years with one on it. Just pull it off and throw the crappie in the bucket/live well. Lol
