Got out last Saturday afternoon for a few hours southern end of the lake water is still muddy 38-40 temp. Found some holding tight to brush on a drop in 20ft. Only got one good size but I'll take a 13 inch fish anytime! But there were 4 8-9inch with it. Attachment 330671
Anyone have any reports on white bass? We like to fish above Oologah on the Verdigris river. Are they in the river yet?
Went Saturday to Spencer Creek. Talked to 2 different guys at the ramp with LS and neither one of them could find very many fish and when the did find one had a hard time getting bit. Saw on FB a couple of guys did very well on O. I mostly was just making sure the boat was ready to go.
So who else fished today fri the 22nd? Thursday I probably caught 30 dinks then today couldn't hardly buy a bite I think 6 fish between 2 of us. Anyone else notice the fish seem to be scattered a bit?
Need suggestions for good bank fishing with my 9 yr. old son. Any help?
it seems to basic, for many. but, the buck brush on the east side of the ramp at Vada Point is always great for spawning crappie. it is flooded now, and with a long rod, it is good fishing. you can also cork fish a large area. easy to get to, and safe for the kids.
Need help. Went yesterday, Monday, was windy. Couldn't find fish. Look on flooded timber in blue Creek and couple of known brush piles on south end. When I did see them couldn't get a bite. On minnows or jigs. Anyone have a summer crappie pattern that I should try?
Thanks

the summer time pattern there is always, 10 fow brush of some sort. the problem for me is the water level. they could be anywhere, with all the buck brush submerged. I would grab me a buck of minnows and fish the eddy water coming under wiganon bridge. those fish will be stacked up on the south side of the bridge on the corners of the rip rap. fish the shade of the bridge around the pillars.
12ft deep standing timber. Couldn't find anything bigger than 8" on brush. Jigs with monkey milk.Attachment 350405

I probably should mention the timber was in 20ft of water and the tops were about 12ft below the surface. Thermocline was running about 16ft.

Bobby and I got out for only the second trip of the year yesterday. Most of my favorite spots were washed out by the high water. We were able to boat about 15 that went from 10" - 13". We did find a few brush piles that didn't used to be there.
I've got a buddy who is wanting fish Oologah for blue cat, I do not fish up there, any of you have suggestion on where to go?
I finally had a good day on Oologah. With Livescope it took 3 brush piles to find the keepers. Kept 29 to clean.
Sounds like a good day clove!

First, I would like to give THANKS to all that worked the brush pile day Sat.
I showed up at blue creek ramp and did not know about it; and had promised a guy I would take him fishing.
Anyway we fished some of the 2017 yr brush piles in 18' to 20' FOW fishing 12' to 14' down and caught 40 keepers from 8:30am to noon.
Bite was better on minnows than jigs; and the dark jig with chartreuse seemed to work better than other colors.
Anyway, was a good day and again thanks to the people who put out the brush piles!
I would also like to thank everyone that worked Saturday I would have been there bit was moving my 87 year old dad.
Not sure what I saw today along the bluffs South of Spencer Creek ramp in Oologah. Looked like some sort of eel. Was about 12 inches long with the front half gray and back half looked almost pink. Was swimming in about 6 to 8 inches deep. Swam like a snake. No beer or other alcohol involved!!
Bill
Could it have been a part albino channel or blue cat????
Bill, it probably was an American eel. We (The Corps and ODWC) have caught several below the spillway at Oologah after we shut the spillway gates. We usually take them back to the boat ramp at Verdigris to release them. Here is a picture of one we caught from August. Attachment 357082
Fishing was good Saturday. Water temp around 75 to 78. Caught them 12 to 14ft deep on brush in 20ft of water on minnows. Put in at Spencer Creek.

Yesterday went to Blue Creek fished Corp. of Engineer brush piles. Thanks to the Corp of Engineer people and their helpers for putting out the brush and giving me the waypoints. I thank the Oologah Corp. is the only one willing to do this for its fellow fishermen, to spend a day of their own time each year to help others this way.
First time on Oologah this year. Great to be out side but the fish were not having anything to do with minnows, jigs with minnows or jigs of different sizes, color or brand. Fished water 18' to 25'. echo's on bottom and up to 12' off bottom. I believe the keeper crappie have been harvested out this year. But someday somewhere someone will have a great day Crappie fishing.
Water temp today was 58. That's about all I can report that is of any value. Caught 6 small ones plus a good sized white bass and a drum. The fish I had been catching moved. I could find fish with the livescope but couldn't get them to eat.

Fished the timber on the north end and blanked yesterday. Found a few in 25 fow in Spencer Creek but for the most part they were reluctant to bite jigs or minnows. My slowest day in months unfortunately colncided with Fishbarns first day on oologah. We couldn’t even get the dinks to bite. Did catch a couple of good blues so Fishbarn didn’t go hungry. Picture is retro tho.
A few pictures from this past July of some nice oologah walleye. I think we caught 9 over 6.5 lbs (a few trips) any of which I believe would have established new oologah lake records had we not been in such a hurry to get them home simmering in butter! There is nothing in the world that I prefer to eat and the big ones taste just as good as the smaller fish.
Sorry. Guess these are off topic but I figured we could use some filler for the fishermen while the rest of you guys are out filling your tags.
It's always great to see some Oklahoma walleyes, ciller!

Went fishing Friday Nov 8, 11am to 4pm Blue Creek area. water surface temp around 52. started dipping timber found nothing.
moved to some corps brush piles in 10' to 14' found a few small 6" to 10" then moved to main lake points in 24' of water small sticks/ piles holding big crappie.
ended cleaning 16 all over 12" and 1lb plus fish. would catch 2 or 3 and then look for the next little pile in 22' to 24' FTW.
No Minnows just using jigs baby shad and beaver bottom. caught most on baby shad black and chartreuse.
(Could not have done it without livescope. just FYI.)
16 fish over 12” is a real good day in oologah ties. Thanks for sharing the specifics. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that goosegged on timber and skinny water.
Live scope is not in my future so just turning a deaf ear.
I was happy with the day!! We got some crappie!! I had 7 to clean when I got home, plus we threw a few dinks back. I had a blast and thank you again for taking me Crappie Ciller!!!!!
