Lots of bays all around KY Lake. Pick one. The launch at Jonathan Creek is a good bet, and a little more out of the way is Sledd Ctreek (shallow) or my favorite is the Buckhorn Bay ramp which gives you access to three good bays.
Where will you be playing & staying ??
It’s called the Kentucky Opry I think. Not sure about the stay yet. We can play on Friday night and I thought about staying till Sunday and doing a little fishing. I’ve heard a lot about the lake but never been there.

The Opry is about a mile from my house. There is a motel less than half that in Draffenville. But you should check the rates at Kentucky Dam Village, a state park which is maybe a mile north. They have motel rooms and cabins. There is also a full marina on the grounds, along with a decent restaurant. Lots of serious (and some not so serious) Crappie dot com guys in the area. Drop me or M R Dux (the local ring leader) a PM when you get closer and we can maybe get together and tell each other lies.
Lots of good kayak fishing that time of year. We take our Hobies out chasing bluegill and redear starting in late April. I prefer to drive to the undeveloped LBL side of the lake with the kayaks to get away from most of the boat traffic. Kayaks will allow you to get way into the back of the bays where all but the smallest boats can’t go.
Thanks guys. Just trying to make a plans. Clint I’ll holler at you when it gets a little closer.

What show are you doing at the KY Opry? Are you participating in the big talent contest? The gospel show?
Man, you've got SO many options in that area when it comes to kayak fishing. Best thing to do then is pick your launch spot based on wind/weather. I believe most kayak guys like going over into Land Between the Lakes (LBL) where you have A LOT of boat launches all within a short drive of each other, so if your chosen spot isn't producing you can quickly load up and hit a different one. There's a lot less boat traffic at those ramps too vs. the ones on the west side of KY Lake. Again though, it's all going to depend on weather.
Art I really don’t know. My boss is from that area and I play some with his band when I can. He asked me to come play with them. It’s a bluegrass band.
