Yamaha 70 4 stroke. Yes I would buy again. Push's an 860 Wareagle 38 MPH. Uses very little gas. Takes forever to run the gas out of the carburetor.
1999 Mercury 90HP 2strk .... pushes my 16' ProCraft @ 50mph WOT
(I may be the 3rd owner of this rig, but the previous 2 owners didn't use it much)

Would I buy Merc again ... yeah, I would.
(prior to this I had a 1984 70hp Yamaha on a 15.5' Glasstream, run it like I stole it for ~15yrs & sold that rig ... and the new owner tore the boat up but put the motor on another boat & ran it for many years ... so would I buy another Yammy .... sure would !!)
75HP Mercury 4 stroke,would buy again.
Im old school lol I run a 1974 Johnson 115 she runs good but she likes gas had her on a 1974 tri-hull now its on a 19.5 deep vee aluminun
50 hp Yamaha 4 stroke. Great motor. If I had to replace it tomorrow would look hard at Suzuki. Price would be deciding factor.
2009 Merc 50 2 stroke on fishing boat. Merc 60 4 stroke command thrust on Pontoon. No I wouldn't buy another 2 stroke after using the 60 4 stroke fuel injected. Quieter, easier starting, easier on fuel.
2006 mercury opti-max 225. Been very pleased with it

40hp 2018 Mercury 4 stroke. I will only own mercs.
Mercury 60 2 stroke, no problems. I wouldn't trade it but if I hade to buy it would be a 4 stroke for quietness
115 Yamaha 4 stroke on the pontoon. Would buy again.
I bought a 20HP Tohatsu 4 stroke last year. It is a really nice running engine . Previously owned 2 Yamahas, 40 and 55 HP 2 strokes and they both were very good motors.
Spoiler alert!!! Tohatsu makes all of the Mercury motors up to around 70HP and have for years. I had a 2001 Bass Tracker with a 25HP Mercury on it. Super reliable motor for the 15 years I had it. It was made by Tohatsu.
Update! Just learned that Tohatsu now only makes the Mercury motors up to 30HP. The 40, 50, and 60 HP motors are now made in China. That's changed since I last checked. Mercury builds the 70 and above at their USA plant.
200 hp Yamaha 4-stroke SHO. Yes I would buy again but like Cray already stated, those Suzuki’s are mighty tempting. I never met an owner that wasn’t satisfied

2001 Mercury 90HP 2 Stroke..... Yes, I would buy it again.
Yamaha 250 hpdi. Good motor. Sensitive to clean fuel/filters and spark plugs. If I had to replace tomorrow and I had G’s money, I’d have to go with the new merc pro xs v8 4 stoke. Far and above a superior motor to mine. Same weight, way more mid range punch and top end is equivalent, which I really don’t care about.

If I had G's money I'd throw mine away!
2016 Suzuki 140 4 stroke. I ran Yamaha outboards since they came out in 1984. I just liked the features and price of the Suzuki. Last brand I will own unless somebody decides to pay me to run their engine.

05 Mercury 250xs. I plan to buy a new 250r v8 Mercury when this one gives up the ghost but I hope it holds out for a few more years.
