Nice boat! I wish I was 60 years younger.
I saw your duo fishing youtube video yesterday when you were talking about this win. Nice boat.. out of my price range for now. I'm sure someone will eventually snap it up.
I have pretty much the same boat but I have the Merc 115 ProXs and I absolutely love the boat. It handles real well. This would make someone a great boat.
Come on fellas (or ladies), those tax checks should be rolling in! LOL $24,500!
Awesome boat. Wish I could afford it...good luck with the sale!
Just saw this boat at the boat show (but it was camo)... $29K+, multiple calls this week, but haven't seen a check. Spring is only weeks away!
How about the entry fee doubled plus taxes ? Deal ? Just kidding. Congratulations
I keep coming back to look at this and know I cant afford it...someone needs to buy it!! Lol
Sharp boat for sure. I could have bought it, but I got a new knee for about the same price. Still wish I was younger.
Wow, the boat of my dreams! Maybe one day... [emoji17]

New price! $23,500... with all the extras this boat retails for $29K... still never seen the water!
Congrats on winning the tournament and taking home the awesome prize. I was in big ticket retail sales for over 35 years and the challenge you are facing now is one I have seen many times when individuals try to sell new or almost new cars, trucks, boats etc., themselves. First, you are targeting only a small percentage of people who can actually afford that price range of boat... whether it be paying cash or going to their own financing source to get a loan at more conventional finance rates... and the fact that typically that segment of person feels much better about making their purchase through a local dealership... where they feel more secure that they "MIGHT GET" the benefit of better warranty, service and support. Additionally, these buyers generally hold out for bigger and better factory incentives such as year end closeouts, rebates, extended warranty protection and low rate financing and/or that special deal where someone has purchased such a boat and for some reason or another has to sell it at a "distressed" or greatly reduced selling price--such as happens from time to time on Craigslist.
That is a fine looking boat for sure and I feel sure you will find a buyer... but it just may take a little time. Good luck to you.
Kicking the tires is the best i could do...besides bumping your post

Speaking of taxes, will you have to recognize this sale (when it occurs) as income or a gain or how is that treated?
I want to be prepared!

Without saying to much, you have options when you're a tournament angler... oddly enough, sometimes it's better to consider your tournament fishing as a hobby not a job/company, which quite frankly, it is because it's not a full time job. When you take into account what it cost traveling the country fishing, you're in the red with your hobby even when you win a boat. I'm also a paid outdoor speaker, so I considered making fishing a business for tax reasons, but to my surprise it wasn't going to be beneficial because it was added "income". Now if you'd follow a tournament trail, and don't cash checks, and it's your full time job, you should definitely create a business.
Sorry to hijack the boat post again (but at least it gets bumped again :biggrin).....I have linked a decent article that explains business vs. hobby below but coming from a background of accounting and personal taxes in the past, the rule of thumb is you treat all winnings, etc. as income on a return. Same thing as when you go to a casino and say win $10k....you can bet you have to report it. But on the flipside there are instances where you can show your "losses" at casino for the same year and help cancel some of the income out. There are tons of scenerios and always best to speak to a CPA if you aren't sure.
