It's beginning to look like we could get another high water spring on Big 4....good for the spawn but bad for the fishermen. Too early to tell I know but the high lake levels are beginning to concern me.

Agreed! Lakes in KY are at or approaching summer pool. Only time will tell but the rain keeps falling.:dono
I had a great spring and hope we will have a good bit of water. Fishing is different during a high water year and maybe the numbers aren't limits every time out but it makes you fish for em.
Yeah, I think we're in for one......and I didn't like it last year! Sho looking that way, and the Spring rains ain't even here yet!:puke
I’d rather have the high water/ good spawn than low water and high funding pressure during spawn as long as water falls out slowly so eggs can hatch.
But I’ve only fished Enid once from a boat and that was in the late summer early fall.

I enjoyed the high water as it was fun hunting those crappie. When you thought a crappie couldn't be a thick group of vines then BOOM. I had a pretty good spring last year myself.
Was thinking the same thing about the high water this year. I enjoy having plenty of water to fish as well. Just think about the future, if we have two consecutive years of good spawns, then 2021 thru 2023 is going to be awesome!
Every year is a different year. Whether it's high or low it's never the same. I've fished Sardis now for about 16 years and no year has ever been a repeat. Back to back or from one year to another year. Mother Nature is a wild beast on all fronts.
Whatever, I will go!
Hi Brent,

That’s the ticket armyman no better fishing then deep in the brush with the cottonmouths I love it. Show me a sweetgum with vines and I’ll show you a crappie.
I love snakes-- Not!!
MY ranger bottoms out in shallows,,, anyone wanna trade? Lol
I have a friend that has a 10', I think, that has 2 trolling motors under it. It can turn like a 0 turn mower. He guides it with his feet.
Last spring in the high water, he wore the crappie out in Perry Creek and it was the only place he fished. He could get in behind the bushes, where the bigger boats can't go.
I hope you are right. I don't see much bad associated with high water. Rather the issues tend to come with how fast the water comes up and/or they let it back down if fish are in the spawn time line. I'd much rather catch a crappie around trees and vines! Takes a little finesse. Thought I will say the older my eyes get the more challenging! If you ain't getting hung up, you ain't where the fish are. :)
