1/32 oz Beetle spin in either white or green will catch most any species. This was Tuesday in a friend's 15 acre pond. Attachment 325133Attachment 325134Attachment 325136Attachment 325137

Pretty Fish, and that structure shown in the background- my goodness what a fish haven.
Yes indded, and thats a fine looking pond.
Excellent job out there! And yep, that is one heck of a lure. :)
I do like beetlespins,nice fish.
Indeed!!! The beetle spin and the Blakemore road runner are two mainstay baits that have put food on the table countless times throughout my near 60 year year fishing history... and for that reason, to this day... they will always have their place in my tackle box. Thanks for sharing.
We have a few lakes in our area that were made by flooding forest areas and it is so much timber in the lake that you cannot go by just the timber being present to find the fish, the slight creek channels or humps are what you have to find.
In some ways it makes the lake harder to fish as most lakes the cover is in small groupings to concentrate on and will attract fish while these lakes the cover is over the entire body of water and those slight bottom contours will make the differences.
One fishing trip this area will be loaded while the next trip it will be bare but unlike most lakes everywhere looks like a good place to try. lol!
Nice catch and post.
I agree!
This is a better shot of the pond. It is 15 acres fed by a black water creek. My friend built it and has a cabin there that he generously shares with me. He stocked bass and bluegill but there is a healthy population of Flier bream that were native to the creek. Don't know how the crappie got in there but glad they did.

That Orange one and the chartreuse/redtail are great as well.

Thanks for posting this too. Reminded me I needed to order some more. Sure wish Walmart here carried all the colors, way cheaper than Bass Pro shop.
Are you ordering from Walmart on line? They ship free to store and carry a lot more on line than they stock. I'm not their biggest fan but some deals are too good to pass up.
Beautiful pond/lake and Love seeing those catches as well.
This is a real good post. A pond like that would be heaven if I had access as you described. Love the light gear and the beetle spin has been with me for a lot of years too. Not in my box though, they have a box of their own. They always produce.
Found some of the 1/16 oz Beetle Spins yesterday at Walmart for 79 cents. They had green and white ones. Everything else in that size was $1.89. Go figure???
Started fishing beetle spins after seeing Virgil Ward load up!! Got so I bought all the wire and forming tool and make all my own and the jigs now. A buddy made me some bodies in colors I wanted in the old hand pour molds but they still catch fish!! Check with the plastics guys you never know what they can make for you!!
If I had to choose one lure,it would be the beetle spin. One fishing season several years ago,I wade fished creeks exclusively,I suspect I caught more fish that year than any since. The beetle spin is attractive to multiple species, and having the ability to switch up the plastic has only made it more appealing.
