Whats the best procedure to fix a crack on the bow eye of a sundolphin pro 120. Looks like someone cranked on the trailer winch too much.
What is cracked ? The bow eye or the boat ?
Can you post some pictures?
The boat. Ive gotten lots of recommendations on gflex epoxy and i plan on small fiberglass patch over gflex repair and larger fiberglass patch over both. BUT my specific question with this cracknis what of the bow eye.
Fixin the crack will be fairly easy, However I would highly suspect a problem with the reinforcement behind the eye. Can you get to it to see whats going on?

What ever you put on top will still have to be reinforced under it
The boat has a troll motor thats prob getting replaced, a 15hp mercury and a old sonar up front. Everything is free courtesy of my father n law so theres no investment but time and some rebuild money for the motor and prefrences. So a new minnkota and a lowrance elite 5 are most of my investment. So im not against rebuilding the frnt deck but im new to boats and these boats seem to be different then most as far as construction goes so any ideas or inout just experience would be appreciated. Im handy with tools so im up for anything i took autobody so im geared up to get on the water boys
Andrew fiberglass is not going to stick well to that plastic. Go by a couple of body shops. They have products out now to repair that roto molded plastic that will adhere to it much better. Like others have said you will most likely need some reinforcement under there to stiffen it up. That eye was probably installed with a small square of plywood under there. One thing about that plastic. It shrinks over time and gets brittle with age and being exposed to sun light.

The boat is a 97 or 98. It’s free, got a old sonar a old trolling motor and a 15hp mercury. So is the boat itself worth the time? Or do you think the plastic is too risky to take out on the waterQuote:

If you make the repair -- Drill small holes at the end of the Crack and that stops the crack from getting longer Like said already Auto Body materials that repair Flexable Bumpers will seal the Crack but the inside behind the Crack has got to be addressed before the Crack is sealed
