I just ordered a pair of forceps to hopefully safely remove hooks from fish that are hooked deep. I also keep a small piece of pvc in the boat to wrap around the line to help pull jigs free when they are snagged. One of my fishing partners uses bread ties to hold his rods together when he breaks them down to travel on my boat. What are some of the tricks or tools that y'all use to make your fishing trip easier.

I use ball ties that the young girls use on their pony rails to keep my poles togheter it also helps when carrying 10 to 15 poles

I bought some of those tater chip display clips to hold my bags of jigs and plastics. Plan on mounting them on the bottom side of my deck lid where I keep my tackle
I keep a box of all my jig heads by color and size/wt, really helps keep it organized & easy to re-tie
Not a tool but I always rig up before in on the water so to not waste time. Also rig more that one rod for the primary tactic for the day. Fishing is all time management.

How do you use the pvc? How long is it? Interested in this but not sure how you are using it, thanks!
It is about 8 inches long by 3/4". Reel the line tight then roll the line around the pipe a few times then pull to straighten the hook. It saves your drag and your fingers.

Here is a pic of some good gadgets that I have learned to love. The box is a pre rig box that allows you to already have leaders tied up. Comes in handy fishing tree tops and getting hung and broken off, just add a pre tied leader. The bobbers I love they allow you to take on and off at any time without having to snip line and rework everything. They have two tabes that you engage that holds the line in a grove that allows it to slide up to bobber stop. The weights are another item that I like, they are removable and click in. The secret to these is to wrap the line around twice. Then the last item is a hook removal tool that I have started using. A demo video is on youtube. It works great on bream that get the hook embedded way down in the mouth. Slide down line it engages onto hook turn 1/4 and push down. Seems to work great. Attachment 321524Quote:

Does it cause the line to become curly if left on too long?
No not that I have noticed. Also has a slit cut in it with a little piece of yellow thread used to mark the start of the wrap. Then I just embed the hook at the end of the roll. I also like the compact size. Found mine on Amazon.Quote:

Another thing I do while long lining is color code my rods in the rod holders. I use the colored hair pony tail bungies and put different colors on the handle of different sized rods. Really helps to ID the rod that a fish is on when you have multiple rods in the water and multiple folks in the boat fishing.
