Tell your likes/dislikes of 360 imaging. I’m on the fence but about to fall off and get it to play with.:Rofl Do you think Hummingbird will come out with something new in 2019 to improve it or replace it? Thx. :cheers2

I sold mine after using it just once. The picture is very blurry and didn’t really show what I expected after seeing all the commercials and ads. A lot of people I know are going to the panoptix now

How large of a screen do you have? You will want to use a split screen. What type of fishing do you do? The whole reason I got a 360 was to keep from throwing a buoy when I fished a bed. You will never miss finding a bed 3 or 4 feet one way or another and having to hunt for it. You can see it. 360 is ideal for a soft bottom. Hard bottom is more challenging for sure. If you fish a real hard bottom, I'm not sure you will like it.
I’m not going to jump into garmin or get into Lowrance Live View and just going to stick with the Lowrance and Hummingbird units I have on the boat. If I get the 360 will view it on a Helix Mega 9 of which is good enough for me.
Pro’s- Makes finding brush or cover really easy. Easy to pick out things like stumps, and with a little time you can follow creek channels, drop offs etc. If you’re over 12-14fow you can pick fish out fairly easily in the water column and follow them. Also your waypoints will show up on the image with 360 nav and you will know ahead of time when they are coming and exactly where they’re at.
Con’s- The images aren’t as good as SI. In shallow water it’s hard to pick out fish and can be fairly blurry.
All in all it’s an awesome tool to have, especially if you like slow trolling brush or through stump flats.

Don't have one but have fished with Rees guide and his a couple of times. At first I didn't like it but after a couple of hours sitting and staring at it I started to understand what I was seeing. Never touched the adjustments. It was good for spotting shad schools for cranking or spider rig fishing which we do mostly on our lakes. Can see where it would benefit someone who would dedicate the time to playing with it to get adjusted properly and the understanding of what you are seeing.
Can't remember his screen name but there was a guy on here from Georgia or Alabama that was always playing with the latest greatest electronics. He posted several pictures of screen shots he did on a 998 of brush piles and brem beds that were like the advertisement pictures. I think the secret is time and dedication to get it right.
I don't have one, never will. Every time I look at any picture from one of them it just makes me dizzy
Lots of rumors that Gen 3 is coming out probably around February. Humminbird allows discounts when they lift a restriction. Many g2n models will have discounts if not now but in a week or two. Boat marinas are asking if people want gen 2 or gen 3. Guesses are a humminbird version of livescope, mega plus or something like that will be out soon too. I’d say if the 360s go on sale it’s a sure sign of an upgrade getting ready to hit soon.
Humminbird 360 and Panoptix (and the new Lowrance LiveSight) are completely different technologies with completely different advantages ...
*Humminbird 360 allows detection of targets 360° around the boat without user input of any kind except looking at the screen ... (tho somewhat blurry images)
*Panoptix allows live view detection of targets around the boat by constant user input of physically "aiming" the Panoptix xducer at the targets to see them on the screen ...

Does anybody think hummingbird will improve anything like their 360 for 19? We all hear about Gen3 rumors.
Yes. HB updated the other transducers, they will for the 360 to. Just a matter of time.
I want a 360 and will mount it to the transom. Then link to it from the bow and counsel. I see no value in bow mounting it and only using it when the TM is deployed. At least for the way I fish. If your on the bow all day, I get it. But still can't justify it in my mind.

From what I read, on the transom, you can only run no more than 15 mph or something like that and the alarm will go off.
I also think Hummingbird is maybe going to do something as they are out of stock on their website. Think I will wait to see what is happening myself.
I wouldnt have a transom[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]but i stayat the bow.Side scan when at console is all i need in the back.I know you can do a offset for a transom for when your fishing in the front, but i want to know exactly har far i am from what im seeing

New Helix and Solix units ..... https://humminbird.johnsonoutdoors.c...elix?jo-page=7
I see they have a size 7 and 8, besides 9, 10, and 12 offerings in Megas in g3. Awesome! But did they upgrade their 360?
Not yet but it’s about time they have some upgrade for the 360. None of the features of the g3 show anything new related to 360 either
I did notice they are selling just the head unit on some too which is smart
Great. More research and decisions to make. It'll give me something to do over the winter.

Lots of research for sure
I figured sooner or later, Hummingbird would expand their offerings of smaller Megas and they sure come out with a lot of different configured and loaded depthfinders. Very nice!
