Looks like the paint has been roughed up a little. I am sure mine would look worse if it had been painted.
You had better get with it and buy a boat. It has been so long the wife might have forgot she approved it!!

Looks ok to me but all I can see is the cosmetic stuff. I promise it will look alot worse if you fish Lake Conway much.
I just want to make sure I dont get took.....Well I'm not letting her forget...:D I've been looking hard!
Looks like it was used not so gently. Maybe beached on some rocks or something. Hulls look like that after a few seasons on Bull Shoals, there is absolutely nowhere you can beach without crunching some rocks. Overall, from pic #2 it appears to be a nice boat and Lowe has a great rep. Just mho.
I have a BRAND NEW boat(3 mos. old). It doesn't have that many scratches but it already has some. A painted boat is going to have scratches on the bottom. If it floats and doesn't have big dents in it I say buy it if the money is right. That is to say if you have the motor checked out buy a reputable dealer.

Well the price is right, but since it's a Missouri boat and I would be stuck with over $700 dollars in Tax, and buyin 2 depth finders that put's it at $9000 so the tax looks like a deal breaker.....CRAP!:mad:Quote:

Other than that, I think the boat looks very nice. But, I figured that you would be able to find lots of similar used boats in the same price range...
My boat is an '88 Tracker Panfish. It takes on a little water in a days fishing now days. Sometimes I let friends and family fishing with me drive my stick steering across the big part of the lake on the way back in.
I'll set in the back and pull the plug while we are running wide open down the lake. This will cause all the water to be sucked out of the bottom of the boat.
I can't never seem to resist the temptation to scoot up to the front, tap them on the shoulder with the boat plug, and say "Where's this go!":D
TJ, what type and size are you looking for?
I'm looking for a Lowe,Tracker and maybe an express. 17 to 19'...I'm just so frustrated.I'm Looking EVERDAY in the DEM Gazett,Sw Times, Boats.com,EbayI have my name in with Bradford in LR,All the local dealers, The tracker place and trader Bills in Hot Springs...Everyone has just said there hadnt been any trades...O'well something will pop up soon...:D
Art's Marine had a used G3 with 50 Yamaha last week when I went by there that looked cherry. They got lots of used boats I didn't pay much attention to, but the G3 caught my eye cause I think it was the one I considered buying from them when it was new in '03. Might want to give them a call there in NLR.
If the tax is the deal breaker offer him $700.00 less than the asking price. If he can't work with that then he isn't wanting to sell that bad. What are you wanting to spend and what size boat/motor?
I spent a loooong time looking for my boat and I know a few bushes I can kick if I know what you are looking for.

I'm looking to spend no more than $8k..I got him down from 10 on the Lowe boat..It's on Ebay for 9995, and he said he would take 7995 but no less...So I would have to buy 2 new depth finders and pay out 700 in tax so that puts me over....I just want a nice boat thats going to last...This will be my first boat, so I dont want to make a mistake...Quote:

I had to do some cosmetic (paint above the waterline), work on the timing in the motor, rewire the trolling motor and buy a new tm battery and do some other incidental wiring for nightstalking, but I got it for 3 grand. So all in all I think I spent about $500 on fixing it the way I wanted it. I still want to add a couple of seat plates in the bow for side by side spiderig fishing and a hatch for better access to the huge space under the bow fishing platform.
In Arkansas you don't pay sales tax on a used boat if you buy it from an individual, but if you buy from a dealer the tax is around 6-7%. After the few fixes, I am quite happy with the boat and recommend the Express. I have seen a 16' Grummin at a pawn shop in Yellville. It has no motor and needs a floor and some other stuff to be rigged for crappie fishing, it does have a trailer, I can ask the guy what he wants for it if you like.
There are good deals out there, just take your time and the right boat will come along.
Well when I called yesterday, they told me you have to pay tax on a boat if it's new or used, on a out of state boat, ..But if I buy a boat in AR..and its a used, no matter form dealer or individual you dont pay tax...Quote:
