I'm a fairly new to jig tying. Went through a bunch of duds before I had one that I would show anybody.
Anything I need to do beside practice? Any comment won't hurt my feelings, so let her rip.:popcorn
Sorry, can't get it flipped right.

I'd fish it
Main thing wrong with it is that it’s in your vice and not mine.:biggrin very nice tie. Never tied one with feathers that looked that good.
I dont know if that will catch fish or not so you need to tie up about 10 more just like it and let me try em out for ya ! :Rofl Great job! Nice un!
Thanks Cray....
only thing I see wrong with it is it's not tied to my line and catching crappie, Just kidding. Looks great. And to get them to post right, try turning your phone on it's side to take pic.'s. That's what I had to do...good job on the jig.
Good looking jig

Good work, keep it up.
Nice work. Looks like small sized chenille. Gives a very good look. I use large and mine have a chunky look to them, need to try some of that size. When yo do try them, take a bucket. You’ll need it.
Great looking jig.
Looks pretty good and should work for you! Only thing I see that may help a little is....are you using Saddle Hackle for your tail? Neck Hackle is much better for that and that Saddle hackle is best for like you collar. Saddle Hackle is stiffer and not as webby as Neck Hackle.
I have been since and not around for a couple days as I came down with Strep and today is my first day of feeling like it's getting better or I would have replied sooner.

Thanks for the kind words from everyone...
Skeetbum..it's med size chenille
Skip.. I had to go look to see which it was and you're right. I had saddle hackle for both. Here is one following your instructions.
Any better? Thanks for your help.
That is one pretty jig! :HandsClapping:highfive
Okay yes that is better, now practice to have the hackle curve with the hook, meaning that you have to hold the hackle just a little to your side when you start to tie it in. That is because it will roll some, but hold it tight and it will not be so much that you can't control it. That way your jigs will always look the same. Let me post a pic of you to get what I mean.

Now this is one Hackle tip and probably 3 of my little V's. You can see my super short video on cutting feathers on the sticky.

Great looking jig!!!!
Alright, using the instructions Skip been giving me I finally got on right, i think......
Looks good but I’ve never tied. Getting a vise for Christmas though.
Hope you have plenty of extra money laying around.......rotfl you'll be buying tying stuff every day.
Next you'll start pouring jigs (unless you already do) then of course you'll need to paint em, and before you know it, you have a mini tackle warehouse in your house.
Yes that looks good and I bet you like that tail better right? Anyway after a while it will get easier to do.
Now just work on a nice smooth body and it will as good as it can get IMHO! I say this and it's hard for me not to think of a segmented body that your kind of looks like so I bet that will work fine too for the fish!
Good job,
Skip
Thanks Skip. Yes I do like the tail better.
I sure am grateful to you for all your guidance.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.
