Fish USA Sale - Pflueger President XT Spinning Reel

Fish USA has Pflueger President XT Spinning Reel on sale today for $64.99. Anyone have this and can confirm this is as good as the normal Pflueger President?

Really dont know .....but With a aluminum main shaft and a aluminum pinion gear....probably not.....will be lighter in weight though.

I'd wait a month and see what BPS has for Black Friday. Last year they had the regular presidents for 29.99.

I think, in addition to it being a Black Friday deal last year, Pfleuger also changes the President for this year so it was like a close out sale. I may be wrong and hope that I am because I’ll buy more than 4 this year if they have that sale again

I have been using 2 of these reels for about a year. They are mounted on Cabela's Fish Eagle graphite rods (6'6" & 7'0"). As "G" says above stainless would be more durable but I have not had any issues, so far.

FWIW, the President has a graphite body.

Aluminum > graphite, but we're talking about crappie, not tuna. Almost any reel you like will work just fine.

I absolutely love the President 6920. I have 4 of them, which replaced all my Shimanos starting back about 10 years ago. The price break and exceptional quality are truly amazing in this day & age.

Shimano had an inherent design problem with the friction rings (most models) failing rather regularly. Then, as a "fix" they changed the design and kicked up their prices by about $20.00+ on each model! I just hope this Pflueger XT model isn't a similar attempt at kicking up prices and reducing the quality. Probably not, but it bears watching. JMO.

I have a President XT on an 8'-0" St Croix panfish rod with 2 lb SOS line that I use for crappie and bluegill. Bought it early spring 2018 and no problems so far. Super smooth and excellent drag. Have caught many crappie, with several being 2 pounders, and some big gills with it. Really like it!

I have the president and love it. Didn't know BPS put them on sale on Black Friday. But then I am over 2 hours from a BPS. And, I don't like getting up that early--unless it is to fish.
