Cool, good luck, post pics of the project as usual please. Thanks
Done a few also. Good fun bringing ideas to reality. Keep us posted.
Perfect time of year to start a new project, that should help get through some of those to bad weather days!
Ive "restored" a few aluminum boats but have never bought a new one. I'm looking into another one right now actually. I love tinkering with them and fixing them, but i hate the downtime away from the fish. Hope yours goes smoothly and gets you on the water soon! Keep us updated with pics. We love pics.
My Wife was not happy with the way I brought it home. But we made it AOK. The salesman at BPS got a kick out of it. The trailer for it is coming Monday. When this is done my old StarCraft will get a much needed rest. Here,s a couple photos of it off the truck and in the daylight. Now the "fun" begins.
Looks good to me. Canvas ready for paint. :fingerdance
Nice boat, good luck with the project. Boy! If your wife wasn’t happy with the way you brought it home, wait’ll she sees you goin’ to the lake with it and a trailer in the bed of the truck. lol
You mean like this?

That is awesome!
Have heard of putting the cart before the horse but not the boat before the trailer.
You might want to become a member of tinboats.net - a forum dedicated to aluminum boats. Some really good ideas there.
Gota start someplace..Boat / Motor or Trailer...It will be a fun Project...What ya gona power it with!!!
Like was said earlier, tinboats.net or Michael Lopez on youtube. Great aluminum boat project info. I turned an old lobster skiff into a crappie fishing machine this year. Was a lot of fun . Good luck on your project.

Put the trailer under it today,, Got the Load Rite from BPS. Now movin on to the next step.
Was going to put it on an old trailer I already had,, But figured what the hey,, New boat might's well give her new trailer too.
Are you sure the trailer is right for your boat? Looks as if there will be a lot of weight,( motor, batteries, gas tank etc.) hanging off the rear end beyond the trailer supports.

love it so far …..
….whats the power train gunna be …?
I put some upright guides on the sides toward the rear with the short length of carpet covered 2x4's on each. I put my trailer lights on the top of each to keep them out of the water. I used a square electrical conduit box cover as an adapter to mount the light. They are galvanized sheet steel and about 3.5" square.
I got the trailer where I got the boat (BPS) They new what boat I had bought just a few days before. They said that.s where it should set. ( They had put a boat just like mine on it to make the adjustments.) And after I look at now it looks like it needs some more adjusting.
looks like BPS don't know much about boat trailers
I would extend the tongue approximately two feet and move the winch bar forward.

Its not the right trailer...That trailer is for a shorter boat
:hesaid
Take it back to BPS with the boat on it. Hopefully you will get a salesman that knows something about boat trailers.
Looks to me like sliding the jack and bow stop forward about a foot would get it pretty much where it needs to be.
I agree with everyone else though, as is that is not going to good for the hull long term. Bunk boards should always go under the transom.
I’m with some of the others. Looks to be a couple of feet short to me at least.
Yeh and it wont do any good to put longer bunks on it because the axle will still be too far forward. Hang a motor on the back..put gas tank and batterys in the back and with axle that far forward there will not be enough tongue weight and the trailer is gonna fish tail back and forth going down the road. Not enough tongue length to move the winch stand forward enough either dosent look like. Anyway it's not right.

Spot on "G"! I would take it back while it's new and get the right trailer. jmo
Post pics of completed project. Would love to see what you do with it.
Like what I see already. Good to have a project to work on.
