Limestone Creek/Bay
Fished Limestone today from 10-2. TVA was busy making money today and the 7 mph wind was at least 12. Caught several short fish and these. Mouth temp was 71 BUT.... Bay temp was 68. So if spider riggers are wondering where to head it might be worth a try. Iam a minner mainly guy but I did get bites on pink. Oh yeah the biggest was 15"Attachment 319652

Nice catch. That bay is pretty shallow, isn’t it? How deep would you have to run your jigs if you were going to spider rig that area?

The trick is knowing and being able to find the creek channels. Which will be 7 ft when the rest is about 4 at the most. There is Limestone Creek, Piney Creek and Beaver Dam Creek that make up Arrowhead/limestone Bay

Went back after em today at limestone. Water was 59 in the bay. Fished it for an hour early and got one bite. There was another boat trolling and I never saw their net move so I didn't stay. Moved to the channel and started jigging wood caught 22 most fish were only 3 feet down. They should have been in the Bay

Not a bad day, noticing they wasn’t there and moving to the channel was a good call, they will move into that bay good here soon.

Are you catching keepers? My last two trips over there, I've loaded up on shorts - about 8" - with only a few that measure.
-
About half and half this week on the keepers

My dad is gonna try arrowhead creek (where the creek meets the river and has all those lay downs) today.....I'll let ya'll know how he does. If the weather holds out i think we are going to try Shoal Creek (next to the low side of G'ville Dam) tomorrow. That's one of my favorite places to fish, but i just haven't been there in a very long time.

Anyone have any idea how muddy that thing will be after the rain we got yesterday? I have bass fished it a few times in the past, but was thing about trying the crappie out in there this weekend?
-
As dry as the land is, I doubt this soft rain will make it to the water table. Bay is dingy, or stained as the country boys say, but the creek channels are a bit more clear and clean. I'm thinking of trying it myself. A number of people are fishing the blow downs in the channel, but I don't know how successful they are.

Thanks for the info, cant decide to give limestone a try or drive way over to cedar creek in Frankiln co. Been fishing Wilson lake but man, its been tough. For me anyways. Lol

Friends say Bear Creek, out of Haleyville is on fire, and I want to try there next week. Don't know about Cedar Creek, but it has a good reputation for crappie.
